W trakcie porządkowania terenu budowy metra na placu Inwalidów w Warszawie wykonano odkrywkę zachodniego końca tunelu fortecznego. W 1925 roku wraz z fortem rozebrano końcowy odcinek tunelu do poziomu spągu, bez zabezpieczenia wnętrza pozostałej jego części. Koniec tunelu położony jest pod przelotową jezdnią zachodnią placu, a ponad tunelami metra. Murowaną pionową ścianą zabezpieczono tunel forteczny przed osuwaniem się gruntu do jego wnętrza w wyniku ruchu pojazdów ponad i pod tą historyczną konstrukcją.

In the course of clearing the building site of the subway in the Plac Inwalidów (Invalids Square) in Warsaw, an outcrop of the west end of a fortress tunnel was made. In the year 1925 the last part of the tunnel along with the fort has been taken apart down to the floor-level without ensuring and protection of the interior of the remaking part. The end of tunnel is situated under the arterial west drive of the square and above the subway tunnels. The fortress tunnel is protected by a vertical brick wall built specially in order to prevent soil from sliding into its interior as a result of traffic above and below the historical construction.

Na tle historii zagospodarowania Żoliborza przedstawiono istniejące podziemne obiekty budowlane, mogące kolidować z projektowaną trasą tuneli metra. Mimo przeprowadzonego rozpoznania w trakcie budowy natrafiono na nieznane kanały i dreny, obecność których spowodowała zaburzenie normalnego toku prac.

With the history of Żoliborz (part of Warsaw) cultivation and growing as a background, the authors have introduced the existing subterranean buildings objects, which have to be in collision of projected underground railway tunnels. In spite of recognition was done in the process of construction, they met with unknown sewer pipes and drains which presence had disturbed the normal progresses of work.
