An overview of current tendencies in building stadiums has been presented. Construction of the National Stadium in Warsaw, for 55 thousand spectators, has been described. Particular attention has been paid to the structure of roofing and facade. Dissertation has been illustrated with numerous sketches and photographs from the construction phase.

Podano informacje dotyczące montażu elementów stalowych, w tym konstrukcji linowej i membrany przekrycia.

The National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland was designed for 55 thousand spectators. The roof structure is a cable supported membrane structure which spans in between a circular arranged steel structure that is supported by a series of steel columns. The roof covers the entire stadium including the footbal field - the inner portion of the roof was designed as a retractable roof.
