The paper presents aspects of fitting out structures ensured safety working of electrical equipment in explosion-proof execution located in hazardous areas with firefighter’s safety switches. In this paper were taken into consideration experiences gained during implementation in maintenance process - associated in the matter of firefighter’s safety switches polish laws regulation e.g. Regulation Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration in the matter of firefighting protection of buildings, other structures and areas or transposed to polish regulations directives of European Parliament and the Council e.g. Directive 1999/92/EC related to minimum requirements for improving the safety and health protection of workers exposed potentially at explosive atmospheres. The paper by focusing on firefighter’s safety switches in maintenance process of electrical equipment in explosion-proof execution refer in the background correlated polish law rules and technical standards issued by Polish Committee for Standardization.

In refinery, petrochemical and chemical industry exceptionally important is maintenance process of electrical equipment in explosion-proof execution. The paper presents basic issues of electrical equipment In explosion-proof execution in respect of operating and maintenance manuals of electrical equipment, installations and power supply systems of production plants, taking into account e.g. experiences gained during implementation Directives of European Parliament and the Council particularly Directive 1999/92/EC related to minimum requirements for improving the safety and health protection of workers exposed potentially at explosive atmospheres risk, and their transposition into appropriate polish laws. This paper by focusing on operating and maintenance manuals bring closer some aspects of cooperation between production plant and power supply systems operator, production plant and operating entities, production plant and maintenance entities, production plant and overhaul entities. The paper background is created by implementation correlated polish law rules, technical standards issued by Polish Committee for Standardization on the way to develop modern approach to operating and maintenance process of electrical equipment in explosion-proof execution.

Maintenance process of electrical equipment in explosion-proof execution is one of the most important explosion protection issues in refinery, petrochemical and chemical industry. The paper presents basic concerns of Explosion Protection Document aspects, in scope of maintenance electrical equipment in explosion-proof execution. Based on experiences obtained during implementation Directives of European Parliament and the Council particularly Directive 1999/92/EC dedicated on minimum requirements for improving the safety and health protection of workers exposed potentially at risk explosive atmospheres, and their transposition into appropriate polish laws. This paper describes some electrical branch contributions to the Explosion Protection Document expressed on example of PKN ORLEN S.A. Main Production Unit. Pertained Polish laws, correlated technical standards published by Polish Committee for Standardization compose the background, on which modern approach to maintenance of electrical equipment in explosion-proof execution is in line with Responsible Care Card implementation and proceeding sustainable development.
