Satisfaction, engagement and organisational commitment of employees are undoubtedly crucial elements when developing an effective organisation. The ambiguity of these concepts and the multiplicity of definitions hinder the analysis of the available studies. In this article, the author attempts to review the available concepts of these phenomena, indicates the relations between them as well as presents an original research model as a proposal for a starting point for further research.

This paper presents the results of the studies of metal content in precipitation water in 2013, recorded at measuring points within Lubelskie and Lubuskie Voivodeships. It provides a detailed description of the method of collecting and analysing water samples in respect of light- and heavy-metal determination. Based on the results, a general assessment was made of the condition of the environment in the areas in question. Also, the sources of pollution in wet precipitation, and the effects of their introduction into the environment, were determined. It was found that the main pollution elements of precipitation water were linked to anthropogenic sources. The study also established that precipitation water, especially in the sparsely industrialised Włodawa region in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, had generally low pollution levels. It was also noted that in 2013, due to low total precipitation, the environmental impact of metal content was lower than in the preceding years.

Content available remote Fabrication of ternary Ca-Mg-Zn bulk metallic glasses
EN
Purpose: The paper describes the preparation, structure and thermal properties of ternary Ca-Mg-Zn bulk metallic glass in form of as-cast rods. Design/methodology/approach: The investigations on the ternary Ca-Mg-Zn glassy rods were conducted by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) which energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS). Findings: The X-ray diffraction investigations have revealed that the studied as-cast rod was amorphous. The fractures of studied alloy could be classified as mixed fracture with indicated “river” and “smooth” fractures. Both type of the fracture surfaces consist of weakly formed “river” and “shell” patterns and “smooth” regions. The “river” patterns are characteristic for metallic glassy alloys. Practical implications: The studied Ca-based bulk metallic glasses is a relatively new group of material. Ca-based bulk metallic glasses are applied for many applications in different elements. Ca-based bulk metallic glasses have many unique properties such as low density (~2.0 g/cm³), low Youn g’s modulus ( ~20 to 30 GPa). The elastic modulus of Ca-b ased BMGs is comparable to that of hum an bone s, and Ca, Mg, and Zn are biocompatible. These features make the Ca-Mg-Zn–based alloys attractive for use in biomedical applications. Originality/value: Fabrication of amorphous alloy in the form of rod ternary Ca-Mg-Zn alloy by pressure die casting method.

Purpose: The paper describes the preparation, structure and mechanical properties of magnesium based alloys with chemical composition of Mg-1 (wt%) Ca prepared in the form of ingot. Design/methodology/approach: The studied samples were prepared by the tubular resistance furnace melting in silicon crucible. The structure of the alloy was examined by X-ray diffractometry (phase analysis) and scanning electron microscope (chemical analysis of the micro-regions). Microhardness was measured using Vickers hardness testing machine with automatic track measurement. Microstructure was examined by optical light microscopy. Findings: The X-ray diffraction investigations have revealed that the studied cast ingot the two-phase alloy structure. Chemical analysis confirmed the expected chemical composition. Values of the microhardness tests of materials were compared before and after remelting. Practical implications: Magnesium alloys are new class of biodegradable materials other bioresorbable biomaterials for orthopedic applications. The potential benefits of ownership of Mg alloys are the closer modulus of elasticity to the bone than stainless steel or titanium, biocompatibility and bone- active properties and the elimination of necessity of a second operation to remove the implant body. Two- component Mg-Ca alloy is characterized in that a solid solution limit, and creates a stable intermetallic phase Mg2Ca. Originality/value: Fabrication and properties of magnesium based alloys to thermomechanical processing.

Content available remote Fabrication of Mg65Cu25Y10 bulk metallic glasses

Purpose: The paper describes the preparation, structure and thermal properties of Mg-based bulk metallic glass with chemical composition of Mg65Cu25Y10 in form of as-cast rods. Design/methodology/approach: The investigations on the Mg65Cu25Y10 glassy rods were conducted by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) methods. Findings: The X-ray diffraction investigations have revealed that the studied as-cast rod was amorphous. The DSC curve informs about the single stage of crystallization process. The onset crystallization temperature has a value of Tx = 463 K and peak crystallization temperature reaches a value of Tp = 480 K. Practical implications: The studied Mg-based bulk metallic glasses are applied for many applications in different elements. Mg-based bulk metallic glasses have much higher tensile strength and Vickers hardness and much lower Young’s modulus in contrast to crystalline magnesium alloys. Magnesium alloys are very attractive for transport and aerospace applications because they are the lightest among the commercially available structural alloys and show excellent damping capacity. Originality/value: Fabrication of amorphous alloy rod Mg65Cu25Y10 by pressure die casting method.

Pomiary wielkości emisji pyłu regulują trzy podstawowe akty prawne i kilkadziesiąt aktów niższej rangi. Przebijanie się przez setki przepisów nie jest zadaniem łatwym, dlatego w artykule dajemy ich przegląd, co osobom zajmującym się pomiarami emisji pyłów być może ułatwi orientację w tym prawnym gąszczu.

The review presents a concise discussion of reports on hydrogenation of N-containing heteroaromatic compounds in relation to the hydrodenitrogenation process (HDN), along with hydrogenation mechanisms of the most representative examples of the compounds studied. The influence of electronic properties of aromatic structures, with the special emphasis on the resonance stabilization energies and the interatomic C-C and C-N distances, on the susceptibility for their hydrogenation has been considered. The importance of an initial mode of substrate coordination in relation to the reaction products formed is underlined.
