Podano związki (publikowane w ostatnich latach przez BIPM) między podstawowymi jednostkami miar układu SI a podstawowymi stałymi fizycznymi (wg CODATA, 1998). Zwrócono większą uwagę na następujące jednostki miar: amper, sekunda, metr i kilogram; oficjalna definicja kilograma jest dotychczas oparta na jednostce wzorca tej jednostki masy przechowywanego od 1889 r. w BIPM w Sevres. Przedstawiono również pewne ogólne informacje dotyczące kelwina, mola i kandeli.

In the paper linking relations (published by BIPM) between SI base units and fundamental physical constants (according to CODATA, 1998) are given. Special attention is given to following units of measurement: amper, second, meter and kilogram; the official definition of kilogram is based as yet on the measurement standard of this unit of mass kept at BIPM in Sevres since 1889. Some general informations about kelvin, mole and candela are given, too.

Przedstawiono tendencje panujące w Międzynarodowym Biurze Miar (BIPM - Bureau international des poids et mesures), dotyczące stosowania jednostek miar logarytmicznych nepera i bela. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na propozycję uznania jednostki miary neper o wymiarze równym jedności jako pochodnej jednostki należącej do układu SI. Zagadnienie to zilustrowano klasycznymi modelami stosowanymi przy definiowaniu tej jednostki.

Tendencies observed in the International Bureau of Measures related to the questions of appliance of neper and bel as units of logarithmic measures are presented. Particular attention was given to the proposal suggesting that the neper should be included in the class of SI derived units of dimension one. The problem was illustrated with classical models applied for defining this unit.
