A new incrementally non-linear constitutive relation (the "dual" model) expresses sigma as a non-linear function of epsilon. This model with few parameters is well adapted for inverse analysis. Its calibration needs "generalized oedometric" tests. The model is briefly presented and the experimental campaign on a true triaxial apparatus is discussed. The calibation procedure is shown and general trends of soil behaviour for these paths are exhibited. Finally some predicted responses of the dual model for drained and undrained compression/extension triaxial paths on a dense/loose sand illustrate the good predictive capacity of this constitutive model.
