In the paper, a comparison of results of three methods for 3D modeling is presented. A metal barrack was chosen as a test object in the project: “Geoinformation system for port protection, project no: OR00019212”. Photogrammetric method (camera Nikon D5100), terrestrial laser scanning (Focus 3D) and simple distance measurements (Leica DISTO) were used in the tests. Accuracy achieved by means of photogrammetry and laser scanning was evaluated based on the comparison of distances measured in 3D models. The problem of edge identification appears in the tested object and it significantly influences the accuracy.
