Lack of implementation of the maintenance obligation is becoming an increasingly important social problem. The article shows various legal institutions which are to help satisfying the needs of people entitled to alimony who do not get them, and who are not able to stand by themselves. The aim of the paper is to present ways to help such people, both in the light of public and private law. The article discusses the conditions that have to be met in order to be allowed to get public support.

Crime is an ongoing problem, and ever easier access to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as the constant development of technology, continue to enable new methods of crime. The article discusses the most known definitions of criminality and theories relating to this topic. The author shows various causes of crimes, presenting the most common of them.

Przestępczość jest problemem ciągle aktualnym, a coraz łatwiejszy dostęp do narkotyków i substancji psychotropowych, jak również ciągły rozwój technologii, powodują, że wciąż pojawiają się nowe metody popełniania przestępstw. W artykule omówiono najbardziej znane definicje przestępczości i teorie nawiązujące do tego tematu. Autorka wskazuje także na różne przyczyny przestępczości, przedstawiając najpowszechniejsze z nich.

System dozoru elektronicznego jest coraz popularniejszym sposobem odbywania kary za popełnione przestępstwa. Występuje w trzech postaciach, które zostały oddzielnie omówione w tekście. W artykule dokonana została analiza zagadnienia, a także przedstawione zostały warunki konieczne do spełnienia, aby możliwe było orzeczenie odbywania kary pozbawienia wolności w systemie dozoru elektronicznego. Uwzględnione zostały regulacje prawne obowiązujące w Polsce, a także w innych krajach.

The system of electronic surveillance is an increasingly popular way of serving a sentence for the crimes committed. The system of electronic surveillance comes in three forms, which are separately mentioned in the text. This article investigates the issue, and there are presented conditions to be met to allow a judgment of imprisonment in the system of electronic surveillance. The author takes under consideration the legal regulations which are in force in Poland and in other countries.

This article refers to ethics in legal profession, perceiving it as a profession of public trust. The author shows various legal branches which workers are commonly called lawyers and describes the principles contained in a few ethical codes: solicitor, bailiff, prosecutor and advocate. The article shows also issues related to ethical behavior in private life in order to be a good lawyer. The author describes also the principles of legal ethics, such as relation between lawyer and his client, principle of autonomy, principle of competence, principle of honesty and professional secrecy.

Artykuł ten przedstawia etykę w zawodach prawniczych, które postrzegane są jako zawody zaufania publicznego. Autorka prezentuje różne dziedziny zawodów prawniczych, których pracownicy powszechnie nazywani są prawnikami, a także opisuje zasady zawarte w kilku kodeksach etycznych: radcy prawnego, komornika sądowego, prokuratora i adwokata. Artykuł przedstawia także kwestie zachowań etycznych w życiu prywatnym, niezbędnych, aby być dobrym prawnikiem. Autorka opisuje także zasady etyki prawniczej, takie jak relacja prawnika z klientem, zasada autonomii, zasada kompetencji, zasada szczerości oraz tajemnica zawodowa.

Using narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the modernworld becomes increasingly popular. Unfortunately, despite the diffuse of drug use in non-medical purposes, knowledge about the dangers of using them is not widespread. The article presents the devices for initial testing on drugs as an innovation that help preventing especially impaired driving. The development of modern forensic technology in relation to the detection of psychoactive substances in the human body may be the innovation to help people realize how drugs are dangerous while weakening human psychomotor abilities.
