Although uncertainty components of chemical analysis have been extensively studied in numerous interlaboratory exercises, other uncertainty components of the analytical chain such as sample treatment and sampling did not receive similar attention and their influence on the total uncertainty of environmental data is therefore widely unknown. Same dedicated exercises on different matrices and ecosystems suggest that sampling adds the largest share to the total uncertainty. The paper discusses a number of possibilities towards a more systematic investigation of lesser known uncertainty components by collaborative studies.

Obecnie coraz większe znaczenie przypisuje się problemowi niepewności wyników analitycznych. Pomimo że poszczególne składowe niepewności pomiaru analitycznego są obszernie omawiane oraz wyznaczane podczas badań międzylaboratoryjnych, w dalszym ciągu nie do końca poznany jest wpływ takich etapów jak pobieranie i przygotowanie próbek na wartość całkowitej niepewności.
