Two types of unbalance are presented in the paper -- mass and hydraulic unbalance. In the case of mass unbalance, one-plane balancing is used to reduce relative vibrations connected to the first harmonic. In the case of hydraulic unbalance, two-plane balancing is used to reduce relative vibrations in the upper plane (the generator bearing) and in some range of the generator active power in the bottom plane of the journal bearing.
