The new Acts No. 180/2005 Coll. supports the utilization of wind energy in the Czech Republic. This act decrees the mandatory purchase of electricity produced from wind power plants. A purchasing price of produced electricity is adjusted according to price decisions of the Energy Regulatory Office. The purchasing price is adjusted in this way so that the investment recovery (incl. operating costs and net connection costs) was secured within 15 years. The non-risk trade is not generally guaranteed even if state support is large. A coefficient of installed capacity utilization is one of important parameters that have influence to economy. In the paper the technical and economic evaluations are analyzed on the base of results of wind power plants operation in the Czech Republic in year 2001- 2005.
