The effect of gamma-irradiation on the electrical conductivity properties of the biomaterials acrylic resin and silicon rubber was studied. Conductivity data of acrylic resin are mostly unaffected by the exposure of different doses of radiation. The variation in the data of the silicon rubber is due to free radical mechanism, where the electrical conductivity values are decreased with the increase of the dose of gamma-radiation. Infrared analysis of acrylic resin before and after gamma-irradiation revealed no significant chemical change. The silicon rubber is strongly af ected as a result of irradiation.
