The system for the protection of historical monuments has evolved continuously. Its origins in the Polish lands date back to the time of the Partitions of Poland. They are connected with the distinctiveness of the approach to "memento" in the Austrian, Prussian and Russian partitions. The Austrian partition was dominated by a collegial mode for resolving conservation issues and the use of public opinion. This model was largely the basis for the creation of the preservation system in 1918, in free Poland. In the course of 105 years, its organisation and functioning have changed many times. It still requires constant improvement and reflection in such dynamically changing social, political, scientific and technical conditions. These are not the only factors that indicate the directions in which change is sought. The social factor is also important, evident both in the need to protect monuments and in the increasingly strong need for broadly interpreted care for monuments, contemporary cultural assets and cultural and landscape heritage. The legal factor, related to the codification of the issues of monument protection, building law and space conditions, was and is also extremely important. A 'standardisation' and integration of the system of protection of monuments and cultural heritage seems to be needed. It may also be worth considering a so-called Conservation Code that would standardise the whole issue.
Architektura to sztuka budowania, czyli gromadzenia trwałych materiałów i takie ich aglomerowanie, aby powstał utwór trwały, funkcjonalny i piękny (jak to opisuje witruwiańska triada: firmitas, utilitas, venustas). Zakończenie budowy oznacza początek trwania budynku. Trwanie architektury prawie zawsze wiąże się z wprowadzaniem zmian. Byłoby wspaniale pozwalać trwać architekturze w nieskończoność, z zachowaniem jej pierwotnych kształtów, faktur, materiałów. Postęp techniczny, zmiany w zakresie potrzeb, wypadki przyrodnicze i historyczne, i mnóstwo innych czynników powoduje konieczność wprowadzania zmian w obiekcie.

Architecture is the art of building, that is, gathering durable materials and agglomerating them in such a way as to produce a work that is durable, functional, and beautiful (as described by the Vitruvian triad: firmitas, utilitas, venustas). The completion of construction marks the beginning of the building's duration. The duration of architecture almost always involves making changes. It would be wonderful to let architecture last indefinitely, with its original shapes, textures, and materials preserved. Technical progress, changes in needs, natural and historical accidents, and many other factors make it necessary to introduce changes in the object. Persistence of architecture is a constant change and it is good if they are created by EVOLUTION. Layering is like writing a book, page by page. It then allows you to "read" the architecture and with it the history of the place and the people. Layering is more interesting than exchanging. The loss in the case of replacement is that the previous stage that was removed, whether by disaster or intentionally, is like a page torn out of a book. A modern intervention in a historic building must respect the previous pages, the previous layering. Sometimes it can even fill in some missing pages or rather point them out. The wise course of action in such a case is not guided only by the orders of conservation services. Empathy for architectural/book records is a challenge for creators, especially architects. We will show such a process on the example of the tenement house number 25 Market Square in Krakow, which is an example of careful modernization of structure and space while preserving legible traces. It is also a nod of the present to the future of the new spirit of this space.
Współcześnie dominuje ekonomia i globalna gospodarka oraz sprawy kryzysu energetycznego i klimatycznego. Sprawy dziedzictwa kulturowego odeszły na plan dalszy. Przykładem mnogość deklaracji i konferencji versus NextGenerationUE, Zielony Ład, Fala Rewaloryzacji i Nowy Bauhaus.

Nowadays, economics and the global economy and issues of the energy and climate crisis dominate. The issues of cultural heritage have receded into the background. An example is the multitude of declarations and conferences versus NextGenerationUE, Green Deal, Revival Wave and New Bauhaus.
A one-factor field experiment was carried out in 2016–2019 at the Experimental Station in Lipnik near Stargard. The aim of the study was the cultivation of Virginia fanpetals in two systems of sowing and planting, determining the impact of the cultivation system on the yield quantity, calorific value, moisture, content and dynamics of the macronutrient uptake by Virginia fanpetals, calculation of the relationship between the yield and NPK intake, calorific value and yield as well as the analytical moisture content. Studies have shown that the method of establishing the plantation (sowing, planting) did not have any significant impact on the calorific value of Sida. A statistical analysis indicated that the method of establishing the plantation (sowing, planting) did not have a significant impact on the formation of the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium contents in the biomass, while it was significant for magnesium and sulfur. More macroelements was contained in the Virginia fanpetals biomass from sowing compared to planting. The total uptake of macronutrients by the Virginia fanpetals biomass was higher in the planting cultivation system. In the system of planting cultivation, in the first year of plantation operation, higher dynamics of the N, P, K, Mg and S uptake by the Virginia fanpetals biomass compared to the sowing system was found. A correlation analysis showed very high degree of correlation between the size of Virginia fanpetals biomass yield as well as the nitrogen and phosphorus uptake.

Jony metali ciężkich (Cu²⁺, Zn²⁺, Cd²⁺ i Pb²⁺) adsorbowano na matrycy alginianowej sieciowanej jonami żelaza(III) z roztworu w wodzie destylowanej i w odcieku z prasy osadów ściekowych. Kinetykę adsorpcji tego procesu badano w temp. 20°C przez 48 h. Adsorpcja była zgodna z modelem izotermy Freundlicha. Określono parametry równania kf i 1/n.

Heavy metal ions (Cu²⁺, Zn²⁺, Cd²⁺ and Pb²⁺) were adsorbed from their soln. in distd. and seepage water from sewage treatment plant on alginate matrix crosslinked with Fe(III) ions. Kinetics of adsorption at 20°C for 48 h was studied. The adsorption followed the Freundlich isotherm model. The kf and 1/n equation parameters were detd. The highest values of kf parameter were found for Pb²⁺ ions in distd. water. Adsorption of Cu²⁺, Zn²⁺ and Cd²⁺ions in seepage water was higher than in distd. one. The sorption capacity of alginate/Fe³⁺ matrices to metal ions was arranged in series Pb²⁺ > Cu²⁺ > Cd²⁺ > Zn²⁺.
„Record cards of immovable properties” may be used for holding information about specific assets. This tool is of utmost importance for protecting and preserving architectural heritage assets built after the second World War in the second half of the 20th century. It allows for recognising a property in advance, defining the scope of protection (whether the entire property should be protected or only its particular elements), and specifying types of works which can be carried out to the property in question. This tool turns out to be particularly important in the event of changing ownership, carrying out renovation works or any other works pertaining to redevelopment, development, adaptation, etc. Additionally, it may be used for developing historic preservation guidelines for architectural designs and the areas they affect and, at the same time, preserving their initial form. Moreover, the tool in question allows historic preservation services to carry out such works to historic monuments and sites that will not only respect their cultural values but also „give them a new lease of life.” Furthermore, it may be used not only in scientific or academic works but also in works aimed at general public. In the current body of law, there are two types of „record cards of immovable properties.” The first one contains information on assets listed in the national register of historic monuments and sites. The second one provides data on assets not listed in this register - in this case, specific merit-related and graphical information is required. Its broader use by historic preservation service may result in increased effectiveness in preserving architectural heritage of the second half of the 20th century.
