Much place in the columns of the „Gospodarka Wodna" and nearly .since ...ever, because starting from the issue 2/1946 we have dedicated to problems of the Oder. In the issue 3/2003 we have published two papers on that river: A. Kreftaand K. Wosiek,,The Oder as the Polish - German waterway" and soon afterwards Delfter Aster of Berlin gave us his paper „The New Oder - a conception of maintenance". The Oder is a river common to three states; therefore the statement by Jaroslav Kubec who is leading the international Association Donau-Oder-Eibe and who has been dealing with the Oder for the last 30 years a.o. in numerous official contacts with Poland. He presents in the paper a plan of building the Oder by low stages of fall and short lateral channels that is in another way than it has been planned in the „Programme for the Oder 2006". J. Kubec outlines an interesting conception but it is a pity that he did not assume an attitude towards the German conceptions of building lateral channels presented in the year 1922.
