Opracowanie dotyczy analizy zagadnienia doskonalenia procesu i produktu uwzględniając popularnie stosowane w praktyce przemysłowej i wymagane w normatywach branżowych metody i narzędzia zarządzania jakością. Wskazano najczęściej stosowane w praktyce metody i narzędzia zarządzania jakością uwzględniając ich korelację i znaczenia dla skutecznego procesu doskonalenia w ramach systemowego podejścia do zarządzania jakością. Zaproponowano ogólny model systemowego ujęcie doskonalenia procesu i produktu z wykorzystaniem wskazanych w opracowaniu metod i narzędzi zarządzania jakością.

The elaboration concerns the analysis of the issue of process and product improvement, taking into account the quality management methods and tools commonly used in industrial practice and required by the industrial standards. The quality management methods and tools which are most commonly used in practice were indicated, taking into account their correlation and significance for effective improvement process as part of the systemic approach to quality management. A general model of systemic approach to process and product improvement with the use of the quality management methods and tools indicated in the elaboration was proposed.

The aim of this article is to show the use of the analysis of the failure causes and effects as a prevention tool in controlling the quality of a given production process in the company. The scope of the work covers an analysis of a selected process, definition of inconsistencies present in this process, and then the FMEA analysis. In the production company one should implement thinking and actions based on the so-called ‘quality loop’ – it is an interdependence model of the undertaken actions which affect the quality shaping. It is carried out from the possibility for identifying a customer’s requirements through a project, production process, up to the assessment of effective capability for meeting the defined requirements. The application of such an approach enables to take the actions improving the operation of quality management in a systemic way.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników badań wskazujących podejście organizacji do implementacji koncepcji TQM, a tym samym aspektów postrzegania samooceny jako miernika poziomu dojrzałości organizacji. Badania ankietowe zostały przeprowadzone w latach 2015–2016 w 317 przedsiębiorstwach branży motoryzacyjnej. W badaniach potwierdzono istotność funkcjonowania koncepcji TQM jako elementu strategii nowoczesnej organizacji, a także wskazano rangę argumentów za świadomym formułowaniem niesformalizowanego sposobu samooceny organizacji.

The aim of this study was to present the results of research indicating the organization’s approach to the implementation of the TQM concept, and thus the aspects of self-assessment as a measure of the level of organization’s maturity. The questionnaire was conducted in 2015–2016 in 317 enterprises of the automotive industry. The research confirmed the significance of the functioning of the TQM concept as an element of the modern organization’s strategy, as well as the importance of arguments for the conscious formulation of an informal self-assessment of the organization.

The possibility of use of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis methods is connected with continuous quality improvement of production processes in companies. Interdependence of the quality research methods and production process’s requirements have been taken into account. FMEA method is the analysis aimed at the disclosure and elimination of potential weaknesses of the process, that is the variants that may cause defects during its implementation. In the study issues, concerning the human resource management and the possibility of the assessment of employees were presented. A defined sheet of the self-assessment was described as proposals to improve in accordance with standard PN-EN ISO 9004: 2010 of 6.3 pt. in the chosen enterprise and also case study have been given.

Purpose: A new approach to human resources management in the machine enterprise directed to the quality has been presented. Design/methodology/approach: The possibility to create the procedure of employees estimation by employer and procedure of self-estimation by personnel is connected with developing personnel politics in the enterprise. Assurance that employees should have influence on their own job for the development of quality management and conformity to products requirements have been taken into account. Findings: At the present time the enterprises should integrate human resources management and quality management, main aims of enterprise and competence for personnel. Such kind of strategy will enable to achieve success for these companies. Research limitations/implications: Work out of procedure of evaluation the effectiveness of the actions taken by employees is a very important approach in companies. Today the personnel of enterprise should be conscious of importance of their activity and also should be conscious of being a subject to control by management with use of different methods of estimation. Practical implications: The example of creating and implementing the procedure of employees estimation by employer and procedure of self-estimation by personnel shows possibility of monitoring human resources in enterprise directed to the quality. Originality/value: Purpose procedures and forms of estimation of employees in Polish companies have been presented. It helps to define potential of human resources, a necessity of increasing amount of training, skills and competence. These procedures and forms are a propose of new strategy of human resources activities of all organizations.

Purpose: A new approach to production process monitoring in organization using control chart type X-R has been presented. Design/methodology/approach: The possibility of use of basic element of Statistical Process Control ( SPC method) is connected with continuous quality improvement of each production process in an enterprise. Interdependence of the quality research methods and production process’s requirements have been taken into account. Findings: At the present time the metallurgical enterprises should integrate quality management system and quality control with customer’s requirements, with defined both parameters of processes and quality methods. Such kind of strategy will enable to achieve success for these companies. Research limitations/implications: Control chart type X-R is very important quality tool. Its determined statistical measures are recorded properties of product obtained as a result of inspections taking randomly samples of products in the determined place of the process. Aim of control chart type X-R is observation and registration of the changeability of the characteristic of the researched element of the production process. Practical implications: The example of implementing control chart type X-R shows possibility of monitoring chosen parameters of production process according to an idea of defect prevention. Usage of this method allows for monitoring of production process, providing opportunities for cost reduction, and maintaining of production process stability. Purpose: A new approach for the implementation of quality philosophy Zero Quality Defects with usage of the Poka-Yoke method in the polish organization has been presented. Design/methodology/approach: The possibility of usage of mistake proofing device is connected with monitoring and improvement of operations in the process. Findings: At the present time the organizations should implement quality tools, techniques, methods which support the prevention strategy and should pay attention to improving each element and operations in the process. Research limitations/implications: Generally activity aim at prevent defects has been described. The Poka-Yoke method of preventing errors by putting limits on how operation can be performed in order to force the correct completion of the operation has been presented. Purpose: A new approach to the functioning of quality management system at university focused on the quality has been presented. Design/methodology/approach: The profits resulting from possessing of Quality Management System certificate in higher education has been proposed. Findings: At the present time the educational organizations should implement Quality Management Systems, and next they should try to find a possibility of estimation of this System, and the same acting according to Deming’s principles introduce philosophy of total quality management.
