The aim of the article is taking a closer look at the problems concerning technical condition assessment with regard to correctness of project goals of structures metal-glass facade. Made is reference to the manner of their execution and proper functioning. The issue of accordance to good engineering practice of adapting changes in the system and adjusting the fitted solutions as reccomended by the producers. Above mentioned issues were dealt with given an example of high-rise building with applied curtain wall and a residential building where a filling structure is mounted.

W artykule opisana została historia Katedry Metaloznawstwa i Metalurgii Proszków od momentu jej powstania w roku 1922, aż do chwili obecnej. Przedstawiono istotne momenty decydujące o losach Katedry oraz krótkie notki biograficzne pracowników, którzy wywarli istotny wpływ na jej profil naukowo badawczy. Zamieszczono także życiorysy naukowe kolejnych kierowników Katedry. Końcowa część artykułu poświęcona jest opisowi stanu aktualnego oraz prezentacji zainteresowań naukowych i możliwości badawczych Katedry. Omówiono także udział Katedry w procesie kształcenia studentów na Wydziale Inżynierii Metali i Informatyki Przemysłowej AGH.

The Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science is the successor to the Faculty of Metallurgy. This brief article celebrates the 85year anniversary and describes the history of the Department in the context of the history of the AGH, viewed through the biographies of its staff and students. Based on the history, this paper details the 85 years growth of the Department (earlier known as Department of Metallography and Thermal Treatment) from its founding on 3 rd April 1922. The article traces the development of the Department into a large academic and research institution. The main mission of the Department is to do the educational and scientific work and give direction on the problem development of the theoretical bases in material science and engineering. Nowadays six scientific groups within the Department, led by professors, offer professional courses in material science and engineering. The activity of the Department, from its beginnings in the 20's to the present day, together with its most important milestones, is summarised in the following paragraphs.

W niniejszym referacie przedstawiona została teoria i praktyka pomiaru różnicy faz sygnałów napięciowych za pomocą częstościomierza-czasomierza cyfrowego. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na czynniki mające bezpośredni wpływ na wartość i niepewność wyniku pomiaru oraz zapro-ponowano sposób zminimalizowania ich wpływu. W efekcie uzyskano zweryfikowane i spójne wyniki pomiaru różnicy faz sygnałów napięciowych wykonanych za pomocą częstościomierza-czasomierza, w pełni wykorzystując dużą precyzję pomiaru czasu.

In this paper, we present the theory and practical aspects of phase measurements of voltage signals with usage of universal time and frequency counter. Special attention is turned to the factors which influence directly the final value and uncertainty of measurement's result. We propose a method of reducing their influence. As a result, we obtain verified and consistent results of phase measurements of voltage signals performed with a universal time and frequency counter, using to the full its high precision for time measurements.

Przedstawono wyniki badań hodowli komórek Saccharomyces cerevisiae oraz Rhizopus nigricans, w laboratoryjnym bioreaktorze o pojemności 2 dm3. Jako nośnik tlenu wykorzystano perfluorodekalinę oraz tradycyjne napowietrzanie pęcherzykowe. Wykazano, że zastosowanie perfluorowanego medium pośredniczącego w napowietrzaniu zwiększa stopień natleniania pożywki hodowlanej. W przypadku przeprowadzonych hodowli drożdży obserwowano skrócenie fazy adaptacji komórek (tzw. fazy lag) do warunków procesowych. Użycie napowietrzonego perfluoroalkanu nie przyniosło natomiast spodziewanych efektów w hodowli wgłębnej grzybów strzępkowych, gdyż szybkość zużycia tlenu ograniczona była dyfuzją w aglomeratach komórek. Zastosowanie perfluorowanego nośnika tlenu ogranicza hydrodynamiczny stres komórkowy wywoływany jednoczesnym napowietrzaniem i mieszaniem płynu hodowlanego.

A 2-l. bioreactor was used to culture yeast (Saccharomyces cereviasiae) and fungi (Rhizopus nigricans) with perfluorodecalin (I) as O2 vector and/or with conventional aeration by bubbling. I was superior as oxygenator, with vol. mass-transfer coeffs. kLa = 0.38–0.152 min-1 as detd. by the dynamic method. With I, the yeast culture showed a shorter lag-phase and a 110% increase in biomass efficiency. In the fungus culture, diffusion controlled the O2 transport in cell-pellets and I did not improve the aeration.

Investigations on Saccharomyces cerevisiae culture oxygenated by a perfluorous oxygen vector are presented. The experiments showed that perfluorodecalin increased the oxygenation degree of culture medium and exerted a beneficial influence on yeast growth.

The subject of the analysis presented in the article is the model of the operation of the company, which provides the logical conditions for the creation of coherent methods of economic calculation which help people in power to make current as well as strategic decisions. In this context the authors of the article criticize methods of calculating costs based on calculating overall costs and direct costs, which are used in Poland and in Europe. Transformations in the modern company question the validity of calculations of this type. The most reliable way that leads to the reconstruction of cost calculation, according to the authors, consists in preparing, in the most objective way possible, a model for the operation of the company. It is possible on condition that methods unifying the production personnel, the accountants and the general management are adopted while taking into consideration the principles that result from the great mutations and evolutions which have taken place in companies in the world, in Europe and also in Poland over the past thirty years.

The article discusses new technologies of information and communication. Because of them work organization in the company changes. New information technologies make information contact possible in the company, which helps to create a new value so far unknown in the theory of the company. It is possible because of a close connection between three components: information, knowledge and experience. The existence of the three provides a new approach to the traditional Schumpeter creative destruction. An important component of this approach is radical innovativeness being the focal point of the modern understanding of enterprise. For this reason new economics, as emphasised in this text, will not consist in creating wealth by means of growing effectiveness, as has been the case so far, but in the economics of intellectual capital.

Przedmiotem prezentowanego artykułu są nowe technologie komunikacji i informacji. Dzięki nim zmienia się organizacja pracy przedsiębiorstwa. Nowe technologie informacji umożliwiają utrzymanie w przedsiębiorstwie kontaktu informacyjnego, dzięki któremu możliwe jest, nieznane wcześniej w teorii przedsiębiorstwa, powstanie nowej wartości. Dzięki spójnemu połączeniu ze sobą trzech elementów: informacji, wiedzy i doświadczenia. Istnienie tej triady umożliwia nowy sposób podejścia do tradycyjnej schumpeterowskiej kreatywnej destrukcji. Ważnym elementem tego podejścia jest radykalny innowacjonizm będący centralnym punktem nowoczesnego rozumienia przedsiębiorczości. Z tego też powodu nowa ekonomia, podkreśla się w tekście, podlegała będzie nie tak jak było dotychczas, kreowaniu bogactwa za pomocą wzrostu wydajności, lecz na ekonomii kapitału intelektualnego.
