The establishment of digital infrastructure embodies a pivotal instrument in propelling developmental metamorphosis, whilst fostering energy preservation and emission abatement. By employing municipal-level data spanning the period from 2009 to 2019, this research establishes a quasi-natural experiment anchored upon the "Broadband China" strategy. Employing the Difference-in-Differences (DID) methodology, this inquiry thoroughly examines the influence of digital infrastructure construction on the alleviation of carbon emissions. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital infrastructure exerts a notable impact on the reduction of carbon emissions. Moreover, carbon emission reduction resulting from digital infrastructure construction exhibits distinctive characteristics of heterogeneity. The empirical evidence presented within this study serves as a fundamental cornerstone for attaining the objectives of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

The presence of Fe and Al atoms in large quantities in phosphate ores can significantly affect the surface properties of the minerals during flotation. In this study, the effects of Fe/Al impurities on the adsorption of H2O molecules on dolomite, including the density of states (DOS), Mulliken bond group values, and charge groups, were investigated and the adsorption energy was analyzed using density functional theory. The results show that the adsorption of H2O molecules on perfect and Fe/Al-substituted dolomites is weak chemisorption, and the Fe and Al impurities weaken and enhance the adsorption capacity of H2O molecules, respectively. Therefore, the hydrophilicity of the dolomite surface increases in the following order: Fe-substituted dolomite < perfect dolomite < Al-substituted dolomite. The Mulliken charge and bond group analysis shows that the adsorption of H2O molecules on dolomite is primarily through the interaction between Ow and Ca atoms, where the d orbitals of Ca atoms provide charges for Ow atoms to form ionic bonds, which related to the poor electronegativity of Ca atoms and their weak valence electron binding ability. The DOS analysis shows that, during the adsorption of H2O molecules on dolomite, Mg and Al atoms have less influence on the dolomite surface, whereas Fe and Ca atoms undergo competitive adsorption, which inhibits the interaction between Ca atoms and H2O molecules on the dolomite surface.

Isobutanol in waste gas streams was treated by a tubular biofilter (TBF) which continuously operated for 364 days under various organic loading rate (OLR) from 11 g·m–3·h–1 to 66 g·m–3·h–1. Results show that within 60 days, the TBF successfully started up even after changing the OLR from 31.3 to 15.6 g·m–3·h–1. The average removal efficiencies (REs) were totally higher than 90% when OLRs ranged from 12.14 to 66.45 g·m–3·h–1. Two distinct performance deterioration periods were observed at days 186–253 and days 280–334, both of which recovered without additional measurement. During these periods, the larvae and adult moth flies, been identified as Psychodinae infested the TBF, greatly affected the TBF performance. When the number of adult Psychodinae decreased, TBF performance recovered. The elimination capacity (EC) was 60.42 g·m–3·h–1 at the inlet OLR of 66.45 g·m–3·h–1, with the critical EC being around 50 g·m–3·h–1. Even under a low gas empty bed residence time of 15 s, the preferable REs and ECs under middle or low OLRs were still obtained by the TBF.

There is little consistent evidence for evolutionary associations from seed production to seedling fitness. In this study, 20 species of Rhododendron genus were selected from subtropical forests of southwest China; the life-history functional traits such as the seed size, seed number per twig, germination traits, dispersal and seedling survival were investigated, the ecological relationships among them were tested and the advantages of small-seeded species were discussed. The results show that the quantitative parameters of germination, such as the germination rate, potential, and index are positively correlated with seed number produced per stem, while temporal parameters, such as germination peak timing and duration are positively correlated with seed size. The two results indicate that different Rhododendron species with different seed sizes and relative seed number can deal with varying environments according to spatial dispersal or time dispersal, respectively, and the advantages of smaller seeds in the aspect of sprouting vigour, dispersal ability and seedling survival may lay the foundation for the establishment of small-seeded plants in the forest.
