W niniejszym artykule przeglądowym przedstawiono stan gospodarki obiegu zamkniętego (GOZ) w Polsce. Pokazano GOZ w zróżnicowanym ujęciu: przedmiotowym (strumienie odpadów, energia), sektorowym (budownictwo, oczyszczalnie ścieków, energetyka węglowa) i zasobowym (minerały antropogeniczne, fosfor), a także pod kątem właściwego gospodarowania energią w budownictwie (budynki niemal-zero-energetyczne).

The manuscript presents the condition of circular economy in Poland in diversified approach: subjective (waste streams, energy), sectoral (construction, wastewater treatment, coal energy), related to the resources (phosphorous and anthropogenic minerals) and considering proper energy management (almost zero energy buildings). The achievements reached in different sectors as well as the requirements towards implementation of CE are presented. The advancement of recycling technologies does not deviate from the global level, in terms of areas specific to Poland. Limiting the exploitation of natural resources and usage of new materials as well as producing more durable products are of CE concern. Also energy and heat recovery in buildings and technological processes (e.g. during wastewater treatment), ways of utilization of combustion by-products and water decarbonization waste are described. The implementation of CE in Poland needs not only research and technical activities, but also the modification of technological processes, the right policy, overcoming crosssectoral barriers, developing legal regulations and support schemes for CE.

Bone tissue graft is a commonly recognised and efficient method of filling osteolitic cavities resulting from injuries, surgical procedures and lesions (cysts, periodontitis). One of the most crucial problems related to this procedure is the limitation of grafting material obtainable from the patient’s tissues. Moreover, graft donoring site operation is associated with an additional bone wound and might result in an aesthetical as well as functional problems. A solution for presented difficulties may be the use of autogenous tooth’s hard tissues, which contain biocompatible dentin matrix of a high histological and biochemical similarity to bone tissue. The possibility of using dental material for filling bone cavities is not a new solution – the osteogenic properties of demineralised dentin material were already examined in 1967 and this concept is still developing. Currently, a material with a full content of the mineral fraction is used for regeneration of bone tissues, which shortens the time of procedure significantly. The paper presents the properties of autologous dental material and a method of its obtaining.

Nowadays, implantology is the basic metod of prosthetic supply of patients with dental deficiencies. It enables both prosthodontic rehabilitation and reconstruction. Implants are primarly biocompatible and of vast clinical application (both as pillars for fixed prosthesis and as an additional retention for mobile ones). Besides the commonly used intraosseus implants based on Brånemark’s system, bicortical implants were brought to stomatology. Since they rest on both layers of lamina dura, their biomechanics as well as clinical approach differs. They can be used to reconstuct teeth loss of a variety of aetiology (caries, periodontitis, traumas) with very high efficacy and constitute an alternatice to traditional implant systems.

Technology of fluidal combustion creates ashes which differ significantly on ones created in conventional boilers. The main feature of fluidal ashes is presence of products of exhaust desulfurization and of not used sorbent in addition to significantly different mineralogical composition of aluminosilicates occurring from significantly lower combustion heat. The fluidal ash has many interesting properties from which its relatively big chemical activity is the most significant. While many potentially promising areas of applying these ashes still wait for development it seems important, still storing its significant amount, to keep possibilities of future recovery and application of stored ashes. The final report analyzes several such possibilities with chosen examples. Summing up, the investigations conducted so far were concentrated main.
This is the first in the series of engineering papers presenting new possibilities of coal-based power engineering, where the energy producing boiler is seen as a chemical reactor, which in the poly-generation process should be outputting only products, no waste. This is to help meeting the Circular Economy (CE) goals by the power sector. Rich chemical composition of flyash and conditions in which they arise, high temperatures and flue gas control systems, many times suggest to purposefully combine the processes of combustion of fuels with the processes of their energy-and-technological processing. Taking into account the huge interest in extracting aluminum compounds (alumina) from flyash, theoretical considerations were made in terms of possibilities of combing the combustion of coals rich in alumina compounds with the process of their extraction. Out of a very rich list of techniques for producing alumina, in the context of ashes the most interesting are the alkali-sintering methods. Of particular potential is the sintering-disintegrating method by Prof J. Grzymek, which has been already verified in industrial conditions in the cement sector, while in this paper it is analyzed from the angle of coal combustion and sintering of calcium-oxide containing ash.

Bogaty skład chemiczny popiołów lotnych i warunki, w których powstają, wysokie temperatury i systemy kontroli spalin, sugerują celowe łączenie procesów spalania paliw z procesami przetwarzania powstających odpadów i produktów ubocznych. Biorąc pod uwagę ogromne zainteresowanie wydobyciem związków glinowych (tlenku glinu) z popiołów lotnych, przeprowadzono analizę możliwości adaptacji procesów spalania węgli bogatych w związki glinu do zwiększenia odzysku związków glinu.

W pracy przedstawiono możliwości zastosowania nowoczesnego lasera diodowego SIROLaser Blue® w praktyce lekarsko-stomatologicznej.

Laser technologies permanently found their place in the world of medicine. A significant and continuous their development is connected with the use of modern technological solutions, whereby the spectrum of clinical applications of lasers constantly increases. Besides the undoubted effectiveness of these devices very important advantage is the positive feelings of patients, including faster convalescence. Construction of efficient laser diode of blue radiation allowed the better light absorption in soft tissues, and reduced its absorption by surrounding tissues. The paper presents the possibility of using modern laser diode SIROLaser Blue® in dental practice.

Początkowo system ten wykorzystywano w wytwarzaniu m.in. koron, licówek, nakładów czy wkładów. Dynamiczny rozwój materiałoznawstwa, jak i samej technologii CAD/CAM umożliwił wykonywanie wielopunktowych mostów protetycznych oraz łączników bądź diagnostycznych szablonów implantologicznych.

CAD/CAM technology, including computer aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) more than two decades in restorative dentistry is used. Within this period, a significant development of systems has been observed to support the clinical work of a dentist. It is primarily due to the growing demand for increasingly precise and highly aesthetic prosthetic restorations as well as their quick performance. Systems using CAD/CAM technology constitute an alternative to traditional and time-consuming laboratory methods, ie. techniques of lost wax, molding using metallic alloys or dental ceramics coverage. Satisfying the high requirements of patients associated with aesthetic restorations results from the availability of materials necessary for their performance. Therefore, we continue to look for the materials with good physical and chemical properties as well as excellent aesthetics while maintaining biocompatibility. The first restoration using CAD/CAM system was made in the early eighties of the previous century. At the beginning, the system was used in the preparation i.e. crowns, veneers, onlays or cartridges. The dynamic development of dental materials and the CAD/CAM technology, allowed to perform multipoint bridges and prosthetic fittings or implant diagnostic templates.

Gotowe obiekty mogą zostać wykorzystane do celów diagnostycznych (np. określenia zasięgu zmian nowotworowych, pourazowych), zaplanowania zabiegu (możliwość przestrzennego zobrazowania gotowego implantu, struktur otaczających, symulacji dostępu operacyjnego i procedury zabiegowej), a także wytworzenia implantów przydatnych w rekonstrukcji chorobowo bądź urazowo zniszczonych elementów szkieletu. Celem niniejszej pracy było przedstawienie możliwości zastosowania powyższej metody w medycynie rekonstrukcyjnej twarzoczaszki.

The additive technologies (commonly called as 3D printing) due to the high costs are not widely used in the national regenerative medicine. As the other reasons are mentioned: no need to apply them, fear of doctors from using this method, lack of training as well as reliable sources of knowledge. The high cost of the procedure results from the prices of equipment, appropriate computer software which allows for processing data derived from images with CT or MRI and finally the need of artifacts removing. In contrast to previous methods, where the objects are produced by subtraction of material or change its shape during plastic forming, each of the techniques belonging to the additive technology, obtained objects are the result of attaching material. Depending on the technology, used material is connected layer by layer, based on sequential sections of the 3D model, where necessary, to give finally the desired three-dimensional shape. Generated objects can be used for diagnostic purposes (eg. determination of the extent of tumor or injury), planning the surgery (possibility of the dimensional visualization of the final implant and surrounding structures, simulation of surgical approach and surgical procedures) as well as produce implants useful in the reconstruction of pathologically or traumatically destroyed skeleton’ elements. The aim of this study was to present the applicability of this method in craniofacial reconstructive medicine.
The frequency of fl y ash and other Coal Combustion Products (CCPs) utilization is owed to those who work in the national power industry research and implementation centers and the users of CCPs. The statistics have also been infl uenced by the new system of CCP utilization, which encompasses not only the transportation of CCPs but also the development of new, state- -of-the-art technologies of ash benefi ciation and refi ning. Another signifi cant reason for increased utilization of coal combustion products, fl y ash in particular, is the fact that our scientists have conducted in-depth analyses of their physiochemical properties and are now able to take advantage of these properties when designing new products. When optimizing the process of burning coal-based fuels and co-combusting coal and biomass, as well as other products, it is necessary to research the infl uence that introduced changes have on the usability of fl y ash and its environmental impact. Publishing the data, assessments and results of implementation is no less important. To improve on CCP utilization, we need to consider using it on a mass scale to produce classifi ed, activated and hydrophobic fl y ash. In order to design new, high quality products, it is necessary to improve on the production of cenospheres from dry fl ue gas desulfurization, ore concentrates, as well as micro- and nanofi lls and carriers. Since the utilization of fl y ash from landfi lls increases, it is possible to make profi t from a comprehensive depletion of the lode. The following paper discusses the issue.
Dotychczasowy stan wykorzystania popiołów lotnych i innych UPS należy uznać za duże osiągnięcia krajowych ośrodków badawczych i wdrożeniowych energetyki i użytkowników.

At, present, the situation in utilisation of combustion by-products in Poland should be viewed as a positive outcome of eff orts of research and implementation centres associated with the power sector, as well as of users on the market. This was in large extent facilitated by emerging new companies concentrating not solely on transport tasks by also on active development of new ways of utilisation. As using pure coal fuel for power generation gives place to optimisation by co- -combustion of other fuels with coal, which impacts the properties of arising fl y ashes, slags and fl ue-gas desulphurisation products, it is necessary to further study the physico-chemical properties and toxicity behaviours of these new by-products and make public the results of both research and practical application. It seems appropriate to consider the production of varieties of processed ash, such as quality, activated and hydrophobic ash, in order to increase the overall scope of utilisation. In terms of high-quality products it seems desirable to develop manufacturing of cenospheres in dry technologies as well as metal-concentrates, micro- and nano- -fi llers, and carriers. Successful utilisation of deposited ashes should bring about large economic eff ects, also in terms of recovery of land suitable for development.

Będzie on obejmował wszelkie sfery życia gospodarczego przy zaangażowaniu wszystkich sektorów gospodarki, z perspektywą do 2050 r.
The problem of consolidation of soil has been widely investigated. The basic approach was given by Terzaghi who assumed soil of constant physical and mechanical parameters. In the case of peat consolidation, the permeability coefficient of soil and the elasticity modulus are functions of the settlement which is an important additional factor. The model proposed here assumes varying the elasticity and permeability coefficients. Moreover, the settlement is described by the so-called elementary curve which was approximated empirically based upon laboratory tests. The model allows to consider the case when the filtration in the peat body goes in horizontal direction. It happens so when the charging layer does not receive outgoing water from the pores. The model includes also the case when the load involving consolidation varies in time i.e. the charging layer grows up gradually. The model has been applied practically in several cases and it comes that there is a good agreement between calculated and measured settlement of the consolidated peat layer.
By-products of the combustion of coal (wastes) are often used for various types of construction (dwellings, roads, etc.). The legal regulations (The Ordinance of the Council of Ministers of 2 January 2007 “On the requirements for the content of natural radioactive isotopes of potassium K-40, radium Ra-226 and thorium Th-228 in raws and materials used in buildings for the residence of people and livestock, as well as in the industrial by-products used in the construction, and the control of the content of the aforementioned isotopes” – Law Gazette no. 4/2007 item 29) are in force in Poland. The regulations permit the possibility of utilization of raws and by-products basing upon the level of the natural radioactivity of the examined raws and materials. The article is a survey of the results obtained during the measurements of many types of raws and building materials for almost 30 years by the network of the laboratories in Poland. It is based upon the results stored in the database of the Central Laboratory for Radiological Protection (CLRP), Warsaw. The article tends to outline the radioactivity of the waste materials with respect to other raws and materials used in the construction industry. The article shows the possibilities for the use of by-products originating in the power stations and heat- and power stations (mainly ashes, slag and hinter) in the construction of dwellings and roads.
