W centrach miast występuje znaczne zanieczyszczenie powietrza. W związku z tym istnieje potrzeba lokalnego oczyszczania powietrza. W artykule przedstawiono analizę jakości powietrza w centrum Warszawy oraz sposoby poprawy jego jakości. Przeanalizowano dostępne filtry i sprawdzono ich przydatność. Wstępne badania przeprowadzono na zbudowanym stanowisku badawczym. Badano skuteczność filtracji, spadki ciśnienia i skład zanieczyszczeń przed i za przegrodą filtracyjną. Poszukiwano rozwiązania dla zanieczyszczeń o wielkości ziarna 1-2,5PM. Zbadano trzy rodzaje filtrów (pokrywę antysmogową do splita naściennego, filtr HEPA13 oraz trójstopniowy układ filtracyjny: warstwa węgla aktywnego + filtr F5 + filtr HEPA11) i określono ich przydatność do stosowania w warunkach wysokiego poziomu zapylenia w aglomeracjach wielkomiejskich.

Air pollution is a significant problem in city centres. According to public health care there is a need for local authorities to propose good solutions for purification of an air. It is crucial for outdoor as well as indoor applications. In this paper the levels of PM10 and PM2.5 in the centre of Warsaw, Poland, are presented. Moreover, the experimental stand is introduced due to examination of different filtration materials. There are antismog cover for air conditioning split, HEPA13 class filter and 3-stage filtration (active carbon + F5 class filter + HEPA11 class filter) system for domestic applications. The filtration efficiency is defined and calculated upon experimental measurements of filtration materials. There is experimental stand where some parameters could be adjust. From experiments it is known the efficiency of filtration, the pressure difference and influence of moisture on filtration PM2.5 and less. A solution was considered for contamination of grain size from PM1 to PM2.5. Three types of filters were examined and their suitability for the proposed solution was evaluated. An air purification system was proposed at bus stops.

According to Polish nuclear law, newly emerging nuclear facilities require probabilistic safety assessment (PSA). This article is intended to present the PSA method and to present the error tree method by which the probability of unavailability of the gravity reactor cooling system (GDCS) of the ESBWR power plant designed by GE Hitachi was determined. This work includes creatiion process of a damage tree and performing a quantitative analysis in SAPHIRE tool and estimating uncertainty using the Monte Carlo method. As a part of the work, it was shown that in the probability of failure of a single GDCS P LINE-A line, the most important element are the basic events related in particular to the operation of service valves.

Generation III and III+ of nuclear reactors are most often operated in the world. Reactor safety issues are the most important part of designing nuclear power plants. This article presents the current accident protection systems in power plants. Among other things, the so-called "defense in depth" was presented, which minimizes the risk of the spread of nuclear fission products and the associated passive safety and reactor protection systems.

Cities, but also villages around the world, are struggling with air pollution that can lead to illness and even death of citizens. This phenomenon causes that many local governments are going to build an air purification installations in public spaces. The article presents an analysis of air quality in the center of Polish cietes like Warsaw, Krakow and Zakopane for PM10 and PM2.5 dusts in December 2018. There are proposed ways to improve the air quality in open urban spaces.
