W artykule omówiono przemiany przestrzenne, jakie miały miejsce w okresie zaborów na terenie Jaworzna oraz Szczakowej, wówczas dwóch niewielkich wsi, znajdujących się na terenach zajętych przez Austrię. W omawianym okresie nastąpił ich znaczny rozwój gospodarczy, a co za tym idzie – rozwój przestrzenny. Dzięki temu na przełomie XIX i XX wieku otrzymały prawa miejskie. Dzisiaj Jaworzno jest jednym z miast na prawach powiatu w województwie śląskim, a Szczakowa – jedną z jego dzielnic.

The article discusses the spatial transformations that took place during the period of the partitions in the area of Jaworzno and Szczakowa, which at the time were two small villages located in lands taken by Austria. During this period they underwent significant economic and – as a result – spatial development. This is why they received town rights around the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth century. Today Jaworzno is one of the Silesian Voivodship’s cities with powiat rights, while Szczakowa – is one of Jaworzno’s districts.

W artykule przedstawiono jedno z najważniejszych narzędzi nauczania na odległość jakim jest e-learning. Omówiono obszary stosowania, jego zalety i wady oraz ograniczenia. Podane zostały definicje: systemu zarządzania nauczaniem oraz sytemu zarządzania treścią nauczania. Ponadto opisano standardy e-learningu z uwypukleniem standardu SCORM mającym zastosowanie w wojsku. W podsumowaniu zwrócono uwagę na konieczność samokształcenia umiejętności przydatnych w e-learningu.

Po okresie dominacji przemysłu ciężkiego w 2 połowie XX wieku pozostały nieużytkowane i zdegradowane tereny hut, kopalń, fabryk bawełny, cementowni, doków, linii transportowych oraz kamieniołomów. Obszary te obecnie pełnią role drugoplanowe, czasem uzupełniając jedynie współczesne funkcje, niejednokrotnie zupełnie inne od tych pierwotnych. Zatem ich rewitalizacja jest szczególnie ważnym zadaniem i jednym istotniejszych problemów współczesnych miast. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano wybrane przykłady rewitalizacji z terenu Niemiec: HafenCity w Hamburgu; Spinnerei From Cotton to Culture w Lipsku oraz Park am Gleisdreieck w Berlinie. HafenCity w Hamburgu – to realizacja nowej dzielnicy portowej, obejmującej hotele, sklepy, biura, budynki użyteczności publicznej i zabudowę mieszkaniową oraz liczne przestrzenie publiczne. Spinnerei From Cotton to Culture w Lipsku pokazuje jak pierwotną fabrykę bawełny zamieniono na ośrodek produkcji artystycznej. Mieści on m.in. pracownie i sale wystawowe, jednocześnie zachowując industrialny charakter budynków. Natomiast Park am Gleisdreieck jest przykładem przekształcenia nieczynnego fragmentu linii kolejowej w Berlinie w nowoczesny, ogólnodostępny park miejski. Realizacje te są dowodem na to, że odpowiednio przeprowadzona rewitalizacja, dostosowana do konkretnych warunków, pozwala na ożywienie istniejącej struktury, przy jednoczesnym jak najlepszym wykorzystaniu jej walorów. Przywołane w artykule przykłady mogą posłużyć jako inspiracje dla władz do rewitalizacji przestrzeni postindustrialnych polskich miasta takich jak m.in. Rzeszów.

After the period of heavy industry dominance in the second half of the 20th century, there remained unused and degraded areas of smelters, mines, cotton factories, cement plants, docks, transport lines and quarries. These areas currently have supporting roles, only complementing contemporary functions sometimes, which usually are quite different from primary functions. Their revitalization is a particularly important task and one of the major problems of modern cities. This article presents selected examples of revitalization from Germany: HafenCity in Hamburg, Spinnerei From Cotton to Culture in Leipzig and Park am Gleisdreieck in Berlin. HafenCity in Hamburg – it is a revitalization of a new port district, including hotels, shops, offices, residential areas and numerous public spaces. Spinnerei From Cotton to Culture in Leipzig shows how the original cotton factory was turned into an artistic production center. It includes, among others, work places and galleries, while retaining the industrial character of the buildings. On the other hand, Park am Gleisdreieck is an example of the transformation of an inactive part of a railway line in Berlin to a modern, public city park. These realizations are proofs that proper revitalization, tailored to the specific conditions, enables the existing structure to be revitalized, while maximizing its value. The examples listed in this article may serve as inspiration for the authorities to revitalize the postindustrial space of Polish cities such as Rzeszów.

W artykule omówiono historię jednej z największych i swego czasu najnowocześniejszej w Polsce cementowni. Szczakowa powstała pod koniec XIX wieku i przez ponad sto lat wytwarzała wysokiej klasy cement znany na całym świecie. Dawała ludziom pracę, utworzyła osiedle i szkoliła kolejne pokolenia rzemieślników. Niestety w skutek złego zarządzania i nadmiernej eksploatacji maszyn została zamknięta. Mimo braku produkcji teren fabryki żył „własnym życiem”, które zostało przerwane w momencie zniszczenia, a w konsekwencji rozbiórki wartościowych postindustrialnych obiektów.

The article discusses the history of one of the largest and the most modern of its time cement works in Poland. Szczakowa was founded at the end of the nineteenth century and for over a hundred years was producing high-quality cement famous throughout the world. It was giving people jobs, created housing estate and trained successive generations of craftsmen. Unfortunately, due to bad management and excessive use of machines, it has been closed. Despite the lack of production, the factory’s area was living its own life which was interrupted at the moment of destruction, and consequently the demolition of valuable post-industrial objects.

Low sulfur diesel fuel, neat biodiesel (RME), i.e. rapeseed oil methyl ester, and blends of ON diesel fuel with 5 % (B5) and 20 % (B20) of RME were treated with two additives influencing flow and storage properties (depressants of the WAFI type). The fuels with the addition of the depressants as well as those without the depressants were tested with the use of standard methods involving the determination of cloud point (CP), cold filter plugging point (CFPP), simulated filter plugging point (SFPP), and pour point (PP). After establishing the minimal depressant concentrations at which the value of CFPP was not higher than –20 oC, the fuels were conditioned for 64 hours in the temperature of -17oC (sedimentation test). After the completion of the test, both CP and CFPP were determined in the samples taken from the upper and lower layers of the fuels. The blends B5 and B20 treated with the additive R442 failed the low-temperature sedimentation test; after its completion, the presence of white sediment was recorded in lower layers of the fuels, the CFPP grew by 11-12 oC, and, in the case of the B20 fuel, the CP increased by 6 oC as compared to that prior to the test.

All clinimetry symptoms were documented on paper, on special chart of patient. Development of database in architecture client/server has enabled displacement chart of patient for internet computer environment. I have taken advantage language of programing for this purpose Delphi, driver MyODBC and server MySQL. I have processed statistics and analysis of Parkinsonian symptoms on base of data piled in database. Course of change of symptoms ChP can be guideline for physician for other medicines as well as manner of treatment.

Dotychczas wszystkie objawy klinimetryczne dokumentowane były na papierze, na specjalnej karce pacjenta. Rozwój baz danych w architekturze klient/serwer umożliwił przeniesienie karty pacjenta do internetowego środowiska komputerowego. Wykorzystano do tego celu język programowania Delphi, sterownik MyODBC i serwer MySQL. Na podstawie zgromadzonych w bazie danych opracowano statystykę i analizę objawów parkinsonowskich. Przebieg zmian danej cechy ChP może być wytyczną dla lekarza do zastosowania innego leku czy też sposobu leczenia.

Odkrywkowa kopalnia węgla brunatnego w Bełchatowie, jedna z największych w świecie, rozpoczyna przygotowania do eksploatacji pola Szczerców od obniżenia poziomu wody gruntowej. Zadanie to wykonują pompy głębinowe. Obecnie odbywa się pompowanie z 174 studni z łączną wydajność 330 m3/min.
