The adiabatic expansion of gas through a small orifice (nozzle) into a vacuum is today the most common method of producing neutral gaseous clusters. In the present investigation, the generation of ammonia clusters from the mixture of gases is studied by using a electron impact ion source and a double focusing sector field mass spectrometer. Results of measurements of the generation of (NH3)nH(+) clusters ions versus the percentage abudance of ammonia in the mixtures NH3/Ar or NH3/He at several stagnation pressure are described.
