Dokonując przeglądu problematyki ekofilozoficznej w Problemach Ekorozwoju ograniczyłem się do artykułów i recenzji zamieszczonych w tym piśmie. W pierwszej części tekstu ukazuję kryteria, którymi kierowałem się wyodrębniając z ogółu zamieszczonych w piśmie artykułów publikacje o charakterze ekofilozoficznym oraz wyróżniając wśród nich poszczególne grupy problemowe. W części drugiej przedstawiam wyniki dokonanego przeglądu, dochodząc do wniosku, iż w ciągu ostatnich dwóch lat (roczniki 2009 i 2010) zarysowała się wyraźna tendencja do zmniejszania się ilości ekofilozoficznych publikacji w piśmie. W rocznikach I i II było ich po 48% w stosunku do ogółu artykułów w danym roku, natomiast w rocznikach IV i V już tylko po 21%.

This review of ecophilosophical topics discussed in Problems of Sustainable Development is limited to published articles and reviews. In the first part of the paper, criteria of the selection of philosophical papers from all the papers published are presented. Also main problematic groups are distinguished. In the second part, the results of the survey are discussed. My conclusion is that in last two years (2009 and 2010) tendency of decreasing the number of philosophical papers become visible. In the first two year’s issues there was 48% of such publica-tions, in last two year’s issues only 21%.

Punktem wyjścia rozważań jest założenie, iż zapoczątkowany decyzjami Szczytu Ziemi w Rio de Janerio (1992) zrównoważony rozwój jest realnym procesem społecznym. Przebieg i tempo tego procesu uzależnione są od wystąpienia określonych warunków, które mogą sprzyjać jego rozwojowi (czy wręcz stymulować go) bądź też spowalniać czy nawet hamować. W dalszej części artykułu odróżniam społeczne uwarunkowania zrównoważonego rozwoju od filozoficznych i precyzuję przyjęte ich rozumienie oraz podejmuję próbę ich inwentaryzacji i ewaluacji z punktu widzenia pozytywnego bądź negatywnego wpływu na tempo tego rozwoju. Konkluzją artykułu jest przekonanie, iż obecnie dominują uwarunkowania negatywne, blokujące i hamujące proces zrównoważonego rozwoju.

The starting point for any considerations is the assumption that the sustainable development concept ushered in by decisions of the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro is indeed a real social process. The course and pace of the process in turn depend on specific conditions arising which may be conducive to (or even stimulate) its development, or else slow down or even stop it. In the further part of the article I distinguish between social and philosophical conditioning of sustainable development and specify in more detail the accepted ways in which these conditions are understood, as well as seeking to take stock of and evaluate these from the point of view of positive or negative influences on the pace of the process. The article concludes with a conviction that negative influences are at present dominant, these serving to block or stop the sustainable development process.

Punktem wyjścia rozważań jest analiza obecnego kryzysu cywilizacyjnego i poszukiwań nowych wizji dalszego rozwoju „zglobalizowanej ludzkości”. W tym kontekście ukazane sa różne rozumienia postulatu zrównoważonego rozwoju i uzasadniana jest teza, iż dominujące obecnie w świecie polityki i biznesu pojmowanie sustainable development mieści sie w ramach dotychczasowego paradygmatu rozwoju cywilizacyjnego i de facto wyraża dążenie do kontynuowania (w zmodyfikowanej wersji) dotychczasowego modelu rozwoju. Zarazem zarysowuje sie możliwość takiego rozumienia zrównoważonego rozwoju, które moe stac sie punktem wyjścia dla nowej wizji rozwoju społecznego. Wymaga to gruntownego przemyślenia i rewizji filozoficznych (przede wszystkim antropologicznych i aksjologicznych), ekonomicznych (dogmatycznego neoliberalizmu w gospodarce i dominujacego modelu konsumpcji i własności) oraz politycznych (partykularyzmu w myśleniu zbiorowym i tradycyjnego pojmowania idei suwerennosci państwowej), podstaw dalszego rozwoju i włączenia do tresci sustainable development wszystkich sfer i aspektów ewolucji kulturowej ludzkosci.

The starting point of the consideration is an analysis of the present crisis of civilisation and a search for a new vision of the further advance of humankind. In this context different understandings of the postulate of sustainable development are exposed. There is a justified thesis that the meaning of sustainable development in the world of politics and business remains within the confines of the current paradigm of human development and, in fact, expresses an aspiration to continue, though somewhat modified, the previous model of the advancement of civilization. Simultaneously, it outlines a possibility of such understanding of sustainable development which can become a starting point for a new vision of social development. It requires thorough rethinking and revision of the philosophical, economical and political basis of further development including all spheres and aspects of human culture.
