The system of nickel - titanium is based on the aquiatomic compound of nickel and titanium, it can tolerate quite large amounts of shape memory strain, is very stable and corrosion resistant. Manufacture of the NiTi alloy is difficult because of the reactivity of titanium and all melting must be done in vacuum or in an inert atmosphere. Properties of titanium and its alloys are influenced primary by contents of such admixtures as O2, N2, H2, C, atc. Contents of gaseous admixtures depend heavily on used technique of melting. This paper is devoted to preparation NiTi in the case of plasma metallurgy and vacuum melting and influences of these melting procedures and hot working on structure of this material.
