The interaction between sphalerite and pyrite was investigated by dissolution test, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), zeta potential measurement and density functional theory (DFT) calculation. Dissolution tests indicated that sphalerite dissolution was promoted due to the galvanic interaction between sphalerite and pyrite. The Zn2+ ion concentration increased with increasing pyrite content and dissolved time. XPS analysis results demonstrated that a new oxidation product was formed on the sphalerite surface in the presence of pyrite in a pulp. Zeta potential measurements showed that the isoelectric point of sphalerite increased from 3.3 to 5.4 due to galvanic interaction. DFT calculation results suggested that electron transfer from sphalerite to pyrite occurred when they contacted. The Zn 4s and S 3p states of sphalerite lost electrons. The Fe 4p and 4s of pyrite states obtained electrons, and Fe 3d and S 3s states lost a small number of electrons. The surface oxidation of sphalerite was promoted due to the interaction with pyrite, and the collectorless floatability of sphalerite decreased.
As a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, diclofenac, was commonly used as analgesic, antiarthritic and antirheumatic, and has frequently been detected in municipal wastewater treatment plants (MWTPs) effluents and demonstrated to be potentially environmental risk on human beings. In the present study, N, S co-doped TiO2 nano-crystallites decorated TiO2 nano-tube arrays (N, S-TiO2 NCs/TiO2 NTAs) photoelectrode was used to degrade diclofenac containing wastewater. In addition, the effects of some critical parameters including initial pH, external positive potential, sodium sulfate concentration and initial diclofenac concentration on the photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) degradation of diclofenac containing wastewater and dynamic characteristics were investigated systematically. Results showed that N, S-TiO2 NCs/TiO2 NTAs photoelectrode exhibited high PEC efficiency for the degradation of diclofenac, in which the PEC processes fitted well with the Langmuir–Hinshelwood (L–H) model. Furthermore, external additional anions such as Cl–, ClO– and NO3 – played an important role in inhibiting the degradation of diclofenac. Also, the N, S-TiO2 NCs/TiO2 NTAs photoelectrode possessed good stability for consecutive applications for degradation of diclofenac, which could potentially be utilized in wastewater treatment.

The purpose of this paper is to present a new kind of imitation control architecture for a biped robot. A human operator can interact with the robot and control it to walk. The robot is built based on the skeletal structure of humans. Partial joints are controlled by the operator wearing motion sensors in the body and other joints controlled by the controller. This paper describes the difficulties of balance control due to the random trajectory data by the operator and gives a static walking control method to keep the posture of the robot stable in imitation walking.

W artykule opisano strukturę sterowania metodą naśladowczą dla robota dwunożnego, zbudowanego na podstawie struktury ludzkiego szkieletu. Algorytm umożliwia kontrolę robota, w tym ruchów związanych z chodzeniem i utrzymanie stabilnej pozycji. Przedstawiono problemy związane z balansem.
A method for probing refractive index changes in photorefractive crystals using an interferometric technique and digital image processing was proposed. Based on equal thickness interference in LiNbO3 crystal and Fourier transform profilometry, we obtained phase value changes in interferograms induced by a photorefractive effect, and further calculated refractive index changes. The maximal values for extraordinary light (e-light) and ordinary light (o-light) are 6.6×10–4 and 1.2×10–4, respectively.

This paper is concerned with the stability of systems with interval time-varying delay. By employing a new and tighter integral inequality and constructing an appropriate type of Lyapunov functional, the improved delay-dependent stability criteria are derived. Because neither any model transformation nor free weighting matrices are employed in the theoretical derivation, the developed stability criteria simplify and improve the existing stability conditions. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and the benefits of the proposed methods.

A low complexity method for suppressing speckle in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images is proposed. This method doesn’t require the logarithmic transform and is an extension of the linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) filter to the image wavelet representation. A spatially adaptive shrinkage function is obtained and each modified coefficient is decided separately. Simulation results for the simulated SAR images demonstrate the proposed method outperforms some representative SAR despeckling methods.

Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo system is a nonlinear, multi-variables strong coupling system. To improve the performance of the PMSM system, a composite adaptive inverse control strategy is proposed. This control strategy adopt improved radial basis function (RBF) neural network and FIR filter as nonlinear filter. The proposed filter is used to identify the system, inverse system and design the adaptive inverse controller. Meanwhile the chaos multi-population particle swarm optimization (CMPSO) algorithm is proposed to training the parameters of the nonlinear filter offline. And then an improved variable step size LMS (IVSLMS) algorithm is used to optimize the parameters online. These algorithm improves the convergence speed and accuracy, further improves the control performance of adaptive inverse control. The results of simulation and experiment indicate that the PMSM servo system has good dynamic, static performance and robustness by using proposed hybrid adaptive inverse control strategy.

Cross-linked humic acid supporting palladium (CL-HA-Pd) catalyst was prepared readily and characterized by infrared analysis (IR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TG). The catalyst could catalyze the Heck reaction of aryl halide or substituted aryl halide with vinyl compounds in N2 atmosphere; the yields were above 95%. The catalyst could be recovered and reused 7 times with the Heck reaction of iodobenzene with acrylic acid, and the yield was above 75.6%. The results showed that the catalyst had high catalytic activity even at low temperature of 62°C or with a small amount of the catalyst.
In this paper, a new algorithm, named as Nash-lambda algorithm by merging Nash equilibrium solution and the lambda algorithm, is proposed. The lambda algorithm, a new global optimization algorithm, is created by imitating ancient Chinese human body system model, which has already demonstrated its simplicity in searching scheme, codes and efficiency in computation comparing to the genetic algorithm. The noncorporative game environments determine the optimization problems which are different from those of the traditional safety and reliability optimizations because of the engagement of the Nash equilibrium for seeking the best strategy. The lambda algorithm serves the searching the Nash equilibrium solution efficiently. In other worlds, the Nash-lambda algorithm is just developed to address the optimization problems of the multiple objective functions representing non-corporative players’ interests.
In this paper, we argue the necessity of dealing with lifetime distributions with wave-like bathtub hazard function. Four classes of wave-like bathtub hazards are investigated. For preparing maximum likelihood estimation of the hazard parameters, the first-order and second-order partial derivatives are derived.
In this paper, a new global optimization algorithm by imitating ancient Chinese human body system model, named as lambda algorithm, is introduced. The lambda algorithm utilizes five-element multi-segment string to represent the n-dimensional Euclidean point and hence the string based operation rules for expansion, comparison and sorting candidate strings. The algorithm enjoys the simplest mathematical operations but generates highest searching speed and accuracy. We furthermore explore to merge the lambda algorithm with maximum likelihood procedure for creating a non-derivative scheme – likelihood- lambda procedure. A illustrative example is given.
The Toyota crisis is tearing off the brand image of quality and reliability and therefore it is logical to question whether the dominating position of probability theory, on which Japanese quality and reliability engineering practices are established, should be examined. In general, reliability analysis is an exercise under uncertain environment. Foundationally speaking, uncertain modeling is a matter of choosing what kind of uncertain measure as its standing point. In this paper, we introduce the uncertainty reliability concept on the platform of the axiomatic uncertain measure theory and compare it to probabilistic reliability concept based on Kolmogorov’s probability measure theory, on which the traditional quality and reliability engineering is established. It is expecting that a foundational work can be established for a more rigorous reliability engineering and risk analysis under general uncertainty environments.
The real world phenomena are often facing the co-existence reality of different formality of uncertainty and thus the probabilistic reliability modeling practices are very doubtful. Under complicated uncertainty environments, hybrid variable modeling is important in reliability and risk analysis, which includes Bayesian distributional theory, random fuzzy distributional theory, as well as fuzzy random distributional theory as special distribution families. In this paper, we define a new hybrid lifetime which is specified by a random lifetime distribution with an uncertain distributed parameter, which is called as random uncertain hybrid lifetime. We furthermore define the average chance distribution as a quality index for quantifying the hybrid lifetime and accordingly the average chance reliability is derived.
The exposure of Toyota management’s cover-up of its faulty car component problems raises a fundamental question: did Toyota management make an appropriate decision taking all uncertainties into account? Statistical decision theory is a framework with a probabilistic foundation, which admits random uncertainty about the real world and human thinking. In general, the uncertainty of the real world is diversified and therefore the effort of trying to deal with different forms of uncertainty with one special form of uncertainty, namely random uncertainty, may be oversimplified. In this paper, we introduce an axiomatic uncertain measure theoretical framework and explore the essential mechanism in formulating a general uncertainty decision theory. We expect that a new understanding of uncertainty and development of a corresponding new uncertainty decision-making approach may assist intelligence communities to survive and deal with the extremely tough and diverse aspects of an uncertain reality.
The cross-linking humic acids (CL-HAs), epichlorohydrin as the cross-linking reagent and the supported Pd/Ni bimetallic catalysts (CL-HAs-Pd/Ni) were prepared and characterized by IR, AAS, XPS, TEM. The effects of reaction time, temperature, base, solvent and the amount of catalyst on the properties of the catalyst were studied. These catalysts could catalyze the Heck reaction of aryl halides and substituted aryl halides with acrylic acids or styrene successfully; the yields were all above 95%.

A fast amperometric method for the determination of tyrosinase-catecholase activity has been proposed. The principle of the method is as follows: tyrosinase-catecholase converts catecho! to benzoquinone in the presence of oxygen; benzoquinone is subsequently reduced at the working electrode which generates an appropriate current signai. The method has a good analytical characteristics and a broad detection range (0.01-10.00 U mL1). It is easy to handle, and requires short measuring time (l min).

Zaproponowano szybką metodę wyznaczania aktywności katecho lazy -ty róży nazy. Metoda polega na przekształceniu przez katecholazę-tyrozynazy katecholu w benzochinon w obecności tlenu. Benzochinon jest redukowany na elektrodzie tworząc odpowiedni sygnał prądowy. Zaproponowana metoda ma dobrą charakterystykę analityczną: obejmuje szeroki zakres stężeń analitu (0.01-10.00 U mL1).Dodatkowo jest łatwa w stosowaniu i wymaga tylko 1-minutowych pomiarów.

It is found a modified formula for Opial's modulus rX of order continuous Köthe sequence space X without Schur's property. By using this result, the Opial's modulus of Lebesgue sequence spaces as well as Cesaro sequence spaces can be computed easily. Moreover it is proved in the Köthe se-quence space X with the Fatou property the condition rX(1)>0 implies the order continuity of X.
