The article presents the concept of a maintenance-free inspection station intended for conducting drive-thru tests of commercial vehicles. The main purpose of building this type of diagnostic line is to carry out non-invasive, preliminary tests of heavy-duty vehicles entering the vehicle service area in terms of parameters affecting the safety of their operation in relation to the applicable standards. The main parameter to be assessed will be the concentration of toxic exhaust components, measured using remote sensing methods. In addition, the proposed diagnostic line can be supplemented with additional remote measurement systems, such as, for example, systems for assessing the condition of vehicle lighting, loads on individual axles and individual wheels of the vehicle, tire pressure, thermal load of the brake system, as well as a system for detecting leaks of fluids from the vehicle. Based on the carried out work, it has been shown that using the current specialist knowledge and the components of measurement systems available on the market, it is possible to develop an innovative diagnostic line using remote measurement methods.

The article presents the results of preliminary tests of the vehicle's powertrain with fuel cells, carried out in a thermoclimatic chamber in a reduced temperature box. The aim of this research is to facilitate the introduction of this type of vehicle to the market and guarantee correct operation in changing climatic conditions. In tests, the use of a new type of vehicle drive system and the use of hydrogen as a commonly available fuel is of great importance.

The article presents the results of conceptual and research works of an internal combustion engine adapted for hydrogen supply. The engine was equipped with a direct injection of hydrogen into the combustion chamber, allowing the control of the heat release rate. The developed concept of the power supply system and the fuel injection strategy were presented. Initial results of bench tests were also presented.

The article presents an analysis of phenomena affecting the formation of nitrogen oxides during the combustion of a hydrogen-air mixture in a spark-ignition engine. Studies have been carried out to determine the strategy of creating and burning a hydrogen-air mixture that guarantees a low concentration of nitrogen oxides. This strategy limits the synthesis of nitrogen with atmospheric oxygen during engine operation.

Limiting the temperature of exhaust gases to below 150°C is one of the necessary conditions for diesel engine to be used in a potentially explosive atmosphere. For this purpose heat exchangers are necessary to be used. This article presents the concept of exchanger in which heat pipes are used to transport thermal energy from the exhaust gases to the cooling medium.
