A quantitative method using silica gel HPTLC plates with fluorescent indicator, automated sample application, and UV absorption densitometry has been developed for the determination of dimenhy-drinate (DMH) in motion-sickness tablets. Two brands of tablets assayed within 102–110% of the 50-mg label value. Precision (RSD) was 1.07% for replicate analysis on one plate and 1.92% for different plates. In standard addition and spiked blank analyses to validate accuracy errors were 0.55% and 1.0%, respectively.
