The impact of christian theism on the understanding of science and the relationship between the natural and the supernatural realm during the scientific revolution of the 16th and 17th centuries, and the thesis of the inherent conflict between science and religion The carried out analyses show the inadequacy of a widespread thesis, due to the works of John William Draper and Andrew Dickson White, on the resulting from the nature of these two fields conflict between science and religion. The above thesis is contradicted by the role in the Christian theism doctrine of scientific revolution in the 16th and 17th centuries. In the article, I present by what means in modern European culture the influence of the dominance of the Christian theism on the concept of science was expressed and the relationship between science and religion as adopted by the forerunners of modern science. I point out that the Christian doctrine of creation was primarily a source of basic assumptions about the existence of the natural order and the faith in the possibility of recognizing it by men. A reference to the concept of a supernatural Creator- Lawmaker served as an explanation of the general characteristics of nature. The analysis of the nature and attributes of God was also included into the scope of the natural philosophy. Apart from that, the Christian theism was used to justify the desirability of research, the choice of a particular methodology, the decisions among competing theories and was a source of detailed explanations of events and features of natural objects. The natural theology drew on arguments proving the existence of the Creator from natural studies. The above presented image of science in the 16th-17th centuries and the role of Christian theism at its contemporary stage of development allows for arguing that the thesis on the „innate” conflict between science and religion, allegedly resulting for the nature of these two fields, is incorrect.

W artykule przedstawiono założenia i rezultaty przeprowadzonych testów użytkowych cyfrowego systemu łączności radiotelefonicznej w standardzie DMR współpracującego z aplikacją dyspozytorską. Testy były przeprowadzone podczas ćwiczeń ratowniczych. Celami powyższych testów była wstępna ocena wpływu zastosowania cyfrowej technologii radiokomunikacyjnej na przebieg procesu ratownictwa oraz ocena możliwości udoskonalenia organizacji łączności radiotelefonicznej w jednostkach PSP dzięki zastosowaniu takiej technologii.

Nowadays the State Fire Service in Poland is using analog radio communication system. This system is inefficient and it can be observed more and more disproportion between the needs of State Fire Service resulting from its obligatory duties and the possibilities to fulfil these duties. The authors claim that present and future usage of such old technology is a limiting factor for carrying out rescue duties in a more efficient way. That’s why, to verify this initial hypothesis, the performance tests of digital radio communication system based on the DMR standard in cooperation with dispatching application during rescue exercises took place. In this article the foundations and results of such tests were presented.

A role of naturalism in the contemporary science is still an important issue, which is commonly discussed in the field of philosophy of science. I am presenting the factors that are related to the origin of Darwinian theory of evolution, and are crucial for appropriate understanding the matter. Darwin used to be an advocate of William Paley's version concerning the purposefulness. At last, however, the essential part of Darwin's evolutionary concept turned out to be a negation of all previous explanations referring to God's special intervention, or guidance in the process of evolution. Elimination of such explanations is fundamental and much distinctive for modern science as methodological naturalism. A common acceptance of the discussed methodological postulate is firmly connected with the achievements of Darwin`s theory. In the present paper I am willing to show that both scientific and problematic factors were crucial for the fundamental scientific assumption.

Analiza tego tematu dotyczy perspektywy wybudowania w Polsce ogólnokrajowego systemu radiokomunikacyjnego dla służb bezpieczeństwa publicznego i ratownictwa w standardzie TETRA.

One of the necessary tools serving in efficient realization of tasks set for services responsible for rescue and public safety is uniform radio communication system. Solutions concerning the organization of radio communication in trunked system based on the TETRA standard for State Fire Service on municipality level were proposed. In the solutions operational units of State Fire Service and units of other services were considered.
