W artykule zamieszczono wyniki badań dotyczących redukcji pola elektrycznego pod napowietrzną linią wysokiego napięcia 400 kV, spowodowanej obecnością drzew. Zmierzono rozkłady natężenia pola elektrycznego o częstotliwości 50 Hz pod linią na otwartej przestrzeni oraz na terenie zalesionym. Natężenie pola elektrycznego zmierzono na odcinkach prostopadłych do kierunku linii między innymi pod słupem oraz pod środkiem przęsła.

The article presents results of investigation of electric field reduction under high voltage overhead power transmission lines, which was caused by trees. Electric field (50 Hz) intensity distributions under the line in forest (1) and on agricultural field (2) were measured, and compared. The intensity distributions were measured on perpendicular distances to the line, it means under the line support and under the line span.

Advanced GIS technologies find increasing application in forestry and they can also serve as a valuable tool helping to organize and manage recreation and intensive tourism. In 2002 investigations were carried out in Poland in the Zlotow Forest Division (State Forests) with the aim to elaborate a method, which would allow planning forest tourist and education paths employing, for this purpose, the available spatial information system. The task involved expanding and enriching the existing geometrical and descriptive data of selected forest area by gathering appropriate tourist information, carrying out spatial analyses and selecting an optimal solution. In the forest it self, the authors collected information concerning the attractiveness of selected points and routes which connected them. The ArcView 8.2 computer software was used to develop the necessary data bases and carry out all analyses. The applied program allowed creating new geometrical layers of the digital map: "tourist objects." education points" and "routes". Next, on the basis of the collected information, several variants of education trails were suggested. A number of spatial analyses were conducted, which allowed selecting optimal solutions. The selected routes took into consideration, on the one hand, the criterion of path attractiveness and, on the other, negative impact of the route on the natural environment. The performed investigations confirmed that the GIS tools can be very useful in managing the tourist traffic in forest. They allow processing a large number of spatial data and, at the same time, they guarantee their constant upgrading.
