In this article we showcase the communication initiatives implemented by Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) as part of the ongoing social dialogue with its stakeholders about its exploration for shale gas. The Company's objectives here are facilitated by an array of communication tools, including open workshops, road shows and residents meetings in areas covered by the Company's exploration projects, as well as study visits to drilling sites and information and education campaigns in both local and nationwide media. Other tools employed by the Company to educate the public on the subject include the dedicated website at www.lupkipolskie.pl and a regular newsletter sent out to subscribers, intended as publicly accessible sources of easy-to-understand information on shale gas. The present article ends with a summary of the findings of a survey, conducted at PGNiG request by an independent research institute, which sheds light on the shift in perception of shale gas production by the inhabitants of areas where production projects might actually be launched.

W pracy, na wybranym przykładzie, omówiona została jedna z graficznych metod przetwarzania zdjęć lotniczych. Sprowadzenie układów zdjecia lotniczego i mapy terenu do położenia środkowego kolineacyjnego pozwala na uzupełnienie mapy o brakujace szczegóły.

In a sample illustration in the paper, one of the graphical methods of transforming aerial images is discussed. Bringing the configuration of an aerial image and terrain map down to central collinear position allows for the completion of a map with missing details.

Konstrukcja cieni w perspektywie wymaga wyznaczenia punktu zbiegu promieni słonecznych oraz jego rzutu na płaszczyznę podstawy. Wszystkie publikacje o charakterze dydaktycznym realizują ten punkt wykorzystując bezpośrednio kąt podniesienia i azymut – parametry odczytane z odpowiednich tablic. Zakłada się więc, że promień główny obserwacji ustawiony jest w kierunku południe – północ, co w praktyce zdarza się rzadko. W niniejszym artykule omawiany jest sposób wyznaczenia i uwzględnienia poprawki azymutu w graficznej i analityczno – graficznej konstrukcji cienia wykorzystując mapę dla celów projektowych (zasadniczą).

Construction of the shadows in perspective needs to state the vanishing point of the sun beams and its projection on the basis plane. In all didactic publication these two points are realized based on the parameters (angle of inclination and azimuth) taken directly from appropriate tables. These constructions are correct only for situation when the main beam of observation has S – N orientation. In practice such position is very rare. In this paper we consider the way of regard of azimuth correction in graphical construction of shadows with the usage of the map for designed purpose.
