We study interrelations between symbolic descriptions of concurrently evolving systems and underlying sequential dynamics. The basic framework for this research is formulated on the background of the theory of traces. We focus our interests on minimal shifts and t-shifts generated by them, that is shifts defined in the space of infinite real traces. We show that sets of infinite real traces generated by minimal shifts are always closed and, under some conditions, are also tshifts. Additional discussion for the case of small alphabets (containing at most four letters) is also provided.

In the paper we consider cellular automata defined on metric spaces (AN, d) or (AZ, d) endowed with the uniform Bernoulli measure ž and present general constructions of such automata which are sur- jective, not positively expansive and ž is the measure of the maximal and positive entropy.

Cryptography and cryptoanalysis constitute the discipline called cryptylogy. The paper presents some issues and methods of this discipline. The first section brings a review of fundamental notions and theorems of number theory. Then some classical cryptosystems that use symmetric algorithms are described. A concise description of cryptoanalysis of such systems is given. As an example of public key cryptosystems the RSA knapsack cryptosystem is described. In consecutive sections digital signatures, cryptosystems in finite fields and elliptical curves are briefly discussed. Fundamentals of cryptographic protocols are also discussed. The author gives examples that illustrate the presented notions and methods used in cryptology.

Kryptografia i kryptoanaliza składają się na dziedzinę wiedzy o nazwie kryptologia. W pracy przestawiamy przegląd problemów i metod kryptologii. Część pierwsza zawiera podstawowe pojęcia i twierdzenia z teorii liczb. Następnie przedstawione są kryptosystemy klasyczne oparte o algorytmy symetryczne. Omówione są też krótko podstawy kroptoanalizy takich kryptosystemów. W ramach prezentacji kryptosystemów z kluczem publicznym przedstawiony jest kryptosystem plecakowy RSA. W kolejnych rozdziałach pracy prezentujemy pokrótce problematykę podpisów elektronicznych, kryptosystemów w ciałach skończonych oraz kryptosystemów wykorzystujących krzywe eliptyczne. Omawiamy też podstawy protokołów kryptograficznych. Praca zawiera przykłady ilustrujące omawiane pojęcia i metody.
