Celem artykułu było wykazanie zgodności podstawowych założeń koncepcji foresight z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz przedstawienie statystyki projektów foresight realizowanych w Polsce w odniesieniu do zgodności z założeniami zrównoważonego rozwoju. W artykule przeprowadzona została analiza 23 projektów foresight zrealizowanych w Polsce.

Sustainable development is a challenge for the modern world pointing to the need to balance economic, social and environmental issues. Thus, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development it is necessary to use tools that provide support in strategic planning and policy making. Foresight, especially the regional foresight, is an example of the concept focused on the shaping the future and integration of stakeholders around a common vision of the future, which can provide such a tool. Polish experience with foresight projects show the potential of foresight in this context. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the compliance of the basic assumptions of the concept of foresight with the principles of sustainable development and presentation of statistics foresight projects implemented in Poland in the context of compliance with the objectives of sustainable development.
