Single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) areas arise in cells as a result of exposure to stress agents like UVC or during repair of DNA double-strand breaks. ATR (ataxia telangiectasia mutated and Rad3-related) is responsible for detecting ssDNA. Recently, it has been shown that one of the most important components of cellular response to the damage is Wip1 phosphatase, which inactivates main elements of DNA damage response (DDR) pathways. We developed a mathematical model of ATR detector system, connected to p53 tumor suppressor responsible for activation of genes involved in the cellular response to the damage (DNA repair/apoptosis). Moreover, we added Wip1 phosphatase, as the main agent responsible for turning o DDR. Our results show, that with an accurate dose of UVC and silenced or blocked Wip1, it may be possible to drive cancer cells to apoptotic pathway.

Obszary pojedynczoniciowego DNA (ssDNA) powstają w komórkach w wyniku ekspozycji na stres na przykład – promieniowanie UVC–lub podczas naprawy podwójnoniciowych pęknięć DNA. ATR (ataxia telangiectasia mutated and Rad3-related) jest odpowiedzialne za wykrywanie ssDNA. Niedawno wykazano kluczową rolę fosfatazy Wip1, która inaktywuje główne elementy szlaków odpowiedzi na uszkodzenia DNA. Opracowaliśmy matematyczny model ścieżki ATR i połączyliśmy go z modelem szlaku supresora nowotworowego p53, odpowiadającego za aktywację genów zaangażowanych w reakcje komórki na uszkodzenie materiału genetycznego (naprawę DNA/apoptozę). Co więcej, dodaliśmy fosfatazę Wip1, jako główny czynnik odpowiedzialny za wyłączenie ścieżek sygnałowych uruchamianych w ramach reakcji na uszkodzenie. Uzyskane wyniki pokazują, że dzięki prawidłowo dobranej dawce UVC i wyciszeniu lub zablokowaniu aktywności Wip1, możliwe jest skierowanie komórek nowotworowych na szlak apoptotyczny.

The article presents a concept of a tracked floating vehicle intended for, inter alia, the transport of fire fighting containers to places inaccessible to ordinary wheeled vehicles. The vehicle could also be a means of evacuating people, animals and equipment from disaster-stricken areas. It would serve the services supervised by the Crisis Management Centre, including the fire brigades. The vehicle's specific features include the ability to negotiate rubbles and boggy land and to float. The container self-loading system allows for autonomy and independence of the vehicle from lifting equipment. Use of composite construction materials significantly reduces the weight of the vehicle.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję gąsienicowego, pływającego pojazdu przeznaczonego m.in. do transportu kontenerów pożarniczych w miejsca niedostępne dla zwykłych pojazdów kołowych. Pojazd mógłby być również środkiem ewakuacji ludzi, zwierząt i sprzętu z terenów dotkniętych klęską żywiołową. Stanowiłby wyposażenie służb podległych Centrom Zarządzania Kryzysowego, w tym jednostek straży pożarnej. Cechą charakterystyczną pojazdu jest zdolność do pokonywania zawałów, terenów grząskich i do pływania. Wyposażenie pojazdu w układ samozaładowczy kontenerów pozwala uzyskać autonomię i uniezależnienie od urządzeń dźwigowych. Zastosowanie kompozytów, jako materiału konstrukcyjnego, pozwoli na istotne zmniejszenie masy wozu.

W artykule odniesiono się do aktualnie obowiązujących dokumentów normatywnych regulujących proces pozyskiwania sprzętu wojskowego i usług dla Sił Zbrojnych Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej (SZ RP). Omówiono stan prac nad opracowaniem Uniwersalnej Modułowej Platformy Gąsienicowej (UMPG) jako podwozia bazowego. Zaprezentowano możliwości realizacji przez przemysł krajowy UMPG, bazującej na wynikach i wnioskach dotychczas zrealizowanych projektów. Przedstawiono możliwe do realizacji odmiany gąsienicowych pojazdów lądowych o różnym przeznaczeniu wykorzystujące UMPG jako podwozie bazowe.

Rozwini to opis sposobu pozyskania nowego sprzętu w oparciu o prace B+R, definiując ogólne częci składowe Studium Wykonalności, kryteria parametryczne, zakres niezbędnych analiz i prac wstępnych dla przyjęcia ogólnego układu konstrukcyjnego realizowanego projektu koncepcyjnego. W szczególności odniesiono się do analiz parametrycznych, stosując jako kryterium oceny spełnienie oczekiwa przyszłego użytkownika i wpływu rozwiązania na ogólny układ konstrukcyjny.

A description is given of the method of acquiring new equipment based on R&D studies along with the definitions of general components of the Feasibility Study, parametric criteria, scope of analyses and studies required for adopting a general structural arrangement of the concept design. Special reference is made to parametric analyses, with the adopted evaluation criterion being the meeting of future user’s expectations and the effect of the solution on the general structural arrangement.

W artykule, na przykładzie czołgu T-72, zaprezentowano propozycję konwersji wycofywanego uzbrojenia do ponownego wykorzystania w różnych wersjach pojazdów inżynieryjnych. Przedstawione rozwiązania są przykładami możliwości budowy nowych pojazdów gąsienicowych różnego przeznaczenia zrealizowanych przy względnie niskich nakładach finansowych. Zaproponowana metodyka może być wykorzystana jako oferta handlowa Polskiej Grupy Zbrojeniowej (PGZ) w postaci know-how (pakiet-/y modernizacyjne) lub dostaw gotowych pojazdów o różnym przeznaczeniu zwłaszcza do krajów eksploatujących czołgi T-72.

The paper presents a proposal to transformation, in the direction of modernization and modification or conversion, decommissioned weapons to be reused in different versions of engineering vehicles. The process is illustrated with the example of the T-72 tank. The solutions presented in this paper describe the possibilities of constructing new tracked vehicles of various use at relatively low cost. Reusing of the vehicle can be also the most economical way to extend the product lifecycle of special purpose. Conversion of armoured equipment into products for other purposes may constitute a new stage in the product lifecycle that precedes the disposal phase. Initial conceptual work carried out at OBRUM Ltd. confirms the feasibility of a quick conversion of the T-72 tank into engineering vehicles in few versions, recovery vehicle with extended basic equipment with a view for further development. The proposed methodology may be used as a commercial offer of the Ośrodek Badawczo Rozwojowy Urządzeń Mechanicznych “OBRUM” sp. z o.o. (Research and Development Centre Mechanical Equipment “OBRUM” Ltd.) and Polka Grupa Zbrojeniowa (Polish Armaments Group) (PGZ) (in the form of know-how (upgrade packages) or deliveries of complete vehicles different designation particularly to countries that have T-72 tanks in service.

W artykule omówiono doświadczenia z prowadzenia eksploatacji węgla kamiennego w warunkach wysokiej metanowości, na przykładzie ściany B-11 w pokładzie 348 KWK „Krupiński”, z zastosowaniem odmetanowania przy wykorzystaniu chodnika drenażowego w pokładzie 347/1. Przedstawione zostały występujące zagrożenia naturalne, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zagrożenia metanowego. Podkreślono znaczenie podejmowanych działań organizacyjno-technicznych, mających na celu poprawę warunków bezpieczeństwa pracy pracowników, zatrudnionych w tym rejonie.

The articles discusses current experiences in mining a high-methylene 348 bed in JSW S.A. KWK „Krupiński” Coal Mine with the use of drainage gallery for demethylation of the ground in the B-11 longwall area. Mining lot of the B-11 longwall is located between previously mines B-9 and B-13 longwalls where, with the exception of the initial course of the B-9 longwall where U-type ventilation was used, mining works were conducted with double airway and venting with the so called "short Y" method were used. Designing extraction for the 348 bed along B-11 longwall, with demethylation with the use of B-11 drainage gallery in the 347/1 bed was preceded with detailed analysis and discussions between practitioners and specialist of R&D centres, entrepreneurs and mining supervision body. Correctly designed extraction of the high methane longwall under strict prevention rigour confirms correctness of the decisions taken. Use of the overlaying drainage gallery, in the case of B-11 longwall, which absolute methane emission often exceeds 90 m3/min, thanks to high-efficiency demethanation (75-80%), with guarantee of high safety level of mining and workers, makes it possible to achieve daily output from the longwall of 2500-3500 Mg/d. Mining with the use of a drainage gallery allowed for significant reduction of mining costs when compared to the previously used extraction system for 348 bed with the used of double airways with „short Y” ventilation. This results mostly from higher daily output, significant reduction of the scope of drilling methane holes, eliminating unnecessary air-holes and insulation corks between the airways and a significantly smaller lengths of pipelines left in dammed workings.

W artykule dokonano przeglądu kierunków rozwoju bojowych wozów piechoty (BWP) na przykładzie aktualnie realizowanych światowych programów badawczych/rozwojowych oraz przedstawiono charakterystyczne cechy konstrukcyjne wozów, w tym modułowość w budowie platform. W dalszej części przedstawiono propozycję BWP na bazie Uniwersalnej Modułowej Platformy Gąsienicowej (BWP na bazie UMPG) opracowaną w OBRUM sp. z o.o. Dodatkowo w tablicach zestawiono charakterystyki aktualnie eksploatowanych BWP z podziałem na wozy pływające i niepływające.

The paper reviews trends in the development of infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) by presenting examples of current research/development programmes implemented in the world and lists the design features of these vehicles, including the modularity of vehicle platform design. An IFV is proposed based on the Universal Modular Tracked Platform (IFV based on UMPG) developed at OBRUM. Tables are provided listing the specifications of currently used IFVs, broken up into amphibious and non-amphibious vehicles.

Omówiono kompetencje Ośrodka w projektowaniu i integracji modułowych pojazdów gąsienicowych. Dokonano także wstępnej analizy możliwości produkcji modułowej platformy gąsienicowej (akronim MPG) przez przemysł polski z uwzględnieniem wiodącej roli spółek Grupy Bumar. Ponadto syntetycznie przedstawiono korzyści wynikające z krajowej produkcji platformy.

The article presents "OBRUM" sp o.o. as a leading research and development center that can be a leader in the development of a new family of tracked vehicles that are part of the Polish armored program. Capabilities of the Centre in the design and integration of modular tracked vehicles are discussed. Article also illustrates preliminary analysis of the modular tracked platform production (acronym MPG) by Polish industry with leading role of Bumar Group. Moreover, the benefits of domestic production of the platform are presented in synthetic form.

W pracy omówiono eksperyment wykonany w kopalni Budryk S.A. w ścianie B-5 pokład 358/1. Celem eksperymentu była obserwacja zaburzeń parametrów powietrza w ścianie wywołanych pracą kombajnu ścianowego. Badania prowadzono w bardzo trudnych warunkach w ramach eksperymentu w czasie normalnej eksploatacji ściany, tzn. w warunkach wydobycia i ruchu maszyn. W czasie eksperymentu rejestrowano ciśnienia bezwzględne, przepływ powietrza oraz stężenia metanu w różnych punktach wzdłuż ściany oraz w rejonie ściany. Badania miały unikatowy charakter i autorom nie są znane podobne badania, nie tylko w warunkach krajowych, ale również w światowym górnictwie.

The experiment made at the mine Budryk S.A. in the longwall B-5, at the seam 358/1 has been presented in the paper. The experiment aimed at observation of disturbances of the air parameters in a longwall caused by the work of a shearer. The research was made under very rugged conditions of operation during a normal longwall working i.e. mining and operation of machines. In the process of experiment there have been registered absolute pressures, air-flow and methane concentrations at various places along the longwall and at its area. A character of the research was unique because similar research works have not been known to the authors not only in domestic conditions but also in the mining all over the world.

Przeanalizowano wpływ parametrów procesowych na maksymalny czas cyklu w reaktorze rewersyjnym z międzystopniowym wtryskiem zimnego surowca. Analiza ta sugeruje, iż przesunięciu miejsca lokalizacji wtrysku w kierunku środka reaktora, jak również zwiększeniu natężenia jego strumienia, towarzyszy niekorzystne zjawisko skrócenia maksymalnego czasu cyklu.

The work presents an analysis of process parameters influence on maxi-mum cycling time in reverse flow reactors with cold gas injection. The results suggest that moving of the injection point to the central part of the reactor is connected with a decrease of the maximum cycling time. The same influence is observed when mass flow rate of the injection stream is increased.

Scharakteryzowano bogate zasoby dobrej jakości węgla występujące w obszarze górniczym tej kopalni, a także stwierdzone tam zagrożenia naturalne. The article presents technical activities associated with the process of hard coal industry's restructuring in which also "Budryk" mines took its parts, the youngest Polish coal mining entity. (Production start-up in 1994). Rich coal reserves have been characterised occurring within the mining area of this mine and determined natural hazard occurring in there. Activities in the technical-technological sphere were presented in much detail which determines the moderness and effectiveness degree of the "Budryk" mine.

Przedstawiono możliwości przyspieszenia osiągania cyklicznych stanów ustalonych w RFR, przy wykorzystaniu międzystopniowego wtrysku zimnej mieszaniny reakcyjnej. Wykazano, że opóźnienie włączenia wtrysku umożliwia skrócenie aż do 50% okresu rozruchowego reaktora.

The work investigates the possibility to speed up cycling steady state achievement in RFR with the use of interstage injection of a cold gas. It was proved that a delay in starting time of the injection can make the start up time about 50% shorter.
