In this work different formulations of the boundary element method (BEM) in an analysis of materials with inclusions are presented. Models of composites in the form of linear-elastic solids containing rigid inclusions, elasto-plastic composites and piezomagnetic composites are considered. It is assumed that perfectly bonded matrix and inclusions are made of homogeneous materials. The developed computer codes are used to compute effective material properties by considering unit cells or representative volume elements (RVE). The influence of volume fractions of inclusions on overall properties of materials is studied.

The formulation of the initial stress approach of the boundary element method (BEM) for two-dimensional elastoplastic plates subjected to static tractions is presented. The developed computer code is used to analyze elasto-plastic materials with linear isotropic hardening which satisfy the Huber-Hencky-von Mises yield criterion. Representative volume elements (RVE) containing voids and inclusions are subjected to various boundary conditions. The relation between average stresses and average strains is computed for different volume fraction of voids and inclusions. The results are compared with the solutions computed by the finite element method (FEM). Effective yield stresses and tangent moduli are computed for different materials.

W pracy przedstawiono sformułowanie naprężeń początkowych metody elementów brzegowych (MEB) w analizie dwuwymiarowych tarcz obciążonych statycznie siłami powierzchniowymi. Opracowany program komputerowy zastosowano do analizy materiałów sprężysto-plastycznych z liniowym wzmocnieniem izotropowym, który spełnia warunek plastyczności Hubera- Hencky’ego-von Misesa. Analizowano reprezentatywne elementy objętościowe (RVE) poddane różnym warunkom brzegowym zawierające pustki i wtrącenia.
This paper is devoted to the total tardiness minimization scheduling problem, where the efficiency of a processor increases due to its learning. Such problems model real-life settings that occur in the presence of a human learning (industry, manufacturing, management) and in some computer systems. However, the increasing growth of significant achievements in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning is a premise that the human-like learning will be present in mechanized industrial processes that are controlled or performed by machines as well as in the greater number of multi-agent computer systems. Therefore, the optimization algorithms dedicated in this paper for scheduling problems with learning are not only the answer for present day scheduling problems (where human plays important role), but they are also a step forward to the improvement of self-learning and adapting systems that undeniably will occur in a new future. To solve the analysed problem, we propose parallel computation approaches that are based on NEH, tabu search and simulated annealing algorithms. The numerical analysis confirm high accuracy of these methods and show that the presented approaches significantly decrease running times of simulated annealing and tabu search and also reduce the running times of NEH.

According to up-to-date knowledge only mathematical modelling of the spinal cord injury (SCI) may provide real insight into a spatial location of the fields of the spinal cord mechanical strain generated by the injury. The purpose of our research was to correlate the results of Finite Element Analysis of SCI with the patient’s neurological state and the injured spinal cord MR imaging. The 3D Finite Element Model of the cervical spinal cord and vertebral canal of a 21-year-old male patient was created. The moment of the injury was reconstructed by a simulation of the displacement of nonelastic structure to the light of vertebral canal. A detailed spatial analysis of the stress, strain and dislocation distribution was performed. The most injured region was the superficial zone of the white matter, the anterior part and central region of the grey matter, which was in good agreement with patient’s neurological staus. An individualized Finite Element Model of traumatic SCI constructed by us enabled the evaluation of the influence of mechanical strain on a neurological condition of a patient. Further research will consist in validation of the results of endurance analyses based on a enlarged group of patients.

The paper shows numerical aspects of modelling elastoplastic materials by the boundary element method. The initial stress approach is used in the elastoplastic analysis. In the dynamic analysis mass matrices are computed by the dual reciprocity method (DRBEM). The computer program code was developed to compute displacements and stresses in a rectangular plate with a hole loaded by dynamic forces.

The boundary element formulation for dynamic analysis of inelastic two-dimensional structures subjected to stationary or transient inertial loads is presented. The problem is solved by using simultaneously the displacement and stress integral equations. The numerical solution requires discretization of the boundary displacements and tractions, and stresses in the interior of the body. The boundary is divided into quadratic elements and the domain into constant or quadratic quadrilateral cells. The unknown stresses in the coupled system of equations are computed using an iterative procedure. The mass matrix of the structure is formulated by using the dual reciprocity method. The matrix equation of motion is solved step-by-step by using the Houbolt direct integration method. Several numerical examples show the influence of the discretization on the accuracy and new applications of the method. The solutions are compared to the analytical results or those computed by the finite element method.

W referacie przedstawiono zastosowanie metody elementów brzegowych (MEB) do analizy statycznej i dynamicznej materiałów kompozytowych, sprężysto-plastycznych i piezoelektrycznych. Rozwiązania porównano z wynikami analitycznymi i numerycznymi, obliczonymi metodą elementów skończonych.

In this work the formulation and application of the boundary element method to static and dynamic analysis of composite, elastoplastic and piezoelectric plates are presented. Two types of composite materials subjected to dynamic loads are considered: plates, which consist of different materials and plates reinforced by stiffeners. Elastoplastic materials with linear hardening subjected to body forces and dynamic tractions are analyzed. An interaction of coupled mechanical and electric fields in statically loaded anizotropic piezoelectric materials is investigated. Matrix equations of equilibrium or motion for each material are presented. The developed computer codes are used to compute mechanical fields for different materials and the solutions are compared with analytical or numerical results obtained by other methods.
