Companies are more often publishing publicly available reports to disclose how responsibly they conduct their business. The aim of the research presented in the paper is to compare corporate social responsibility reporting patterns in Poland and in Slovakia, especially the level of CSR reporting as well as the types of these reports. Moreover the authors analyzed development of the CSR concept in both countries. In the study the authors analyzed CSR reports published in 2015. The research included 34 reports from Poland and 18 reports from Slovakia. The results of the study show that more companies in Poland prepare CSR reports than in Slovakia. Additionally, in Poland the development of the CSR concept is progressing faster and is more comprehensive. However, further education, raising of awareness and development of specific instruments that support practice of CSR reporting is still necessary in both analyzed countries.

The paper deals with increasing processes efficiency at a production line of cylinder heads of engines in a production company operating in the automotive industry. The goal is to achieve improvement and optimization of test processes on a production line. It analyzes options for improving capacity, availability and productivity of processes of an output test by using modern technology available on the market. We have focused on analysis of operation times before and after optimization of test processes at specific production sections. By analyzing measured results we have determined differences in time before and after improvement of the process. We have determined a coefficient of efficiency OEE and by comparing outputs we have confirmed real improvement of the process of the output test of cylinder heads.

The paper addresses complex evaluation of safety culture in Slovak manufacturing enterprises by utilizing specific determinants. To accommodate conditions of enterprises in Slovakia, a specific research method was developed for the study of safety culture, which can also be used for manufacturing and non-manufacturing enterprises. We have selected the questionnaire method. Due to the scope of the research, we have defined ten determinants, which form the basis for evaluation of safety culture elements. When determining the level of the specific ten determinants of safety culture, we studied interdependence between the enterprise’s industry, its size (small, medium, large) and points assigned to each determinant. The results of the study are evaluated using a 3D point graph. The discussion shows parts that were evaluated the highest or lowest and outlines suggested approaches to improve the current state.
