Management of environmental noise - the Cracow example

The aim of this article is describing the management of an environmental noise system. The main part of the system are information layers, which are based at a SoundPlan, Integrated Noise Model and MapInfo programs. The layers present maps of noise emitted by: road traffic, rail traffic, industrial activity sites and the airport Cracow - Balice. The strategic noise maps were performed according to the demands of the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union and National Law Acts. The System is working on available measurement data. It is impossible to eliminate environmental noise so it is necessary to reduce the number of noise exposed people. The problem is to get right information about the sources, levels of each source, the number of people living in a given are and the results of the noise reduction action. Every inhabitant should have the access to this information, especially when his decisions can affect the acoustical climate. From the other side, law makes it duty to serve noise pollution information to everybody (especially via internet). This article describes such a system which consists of two parts: database and presentation.

Badano wpływ temperatury czynnika suszącego na proces fontannowego suszenia blanszowej kostki z buraków ćwikłowych o wymiarach 10x10x10mm. Kostkę suszono w laboratoryjnej suszarce fontannowej od początkowej zawartości wody uo=7 kg H2O/kg s.m. do końcowej uk=0,1kg H2O/kg s.m.. Pomiary prowadzono przy stałej początkowej wysokości warstwy surowca w komorze suszenia Ho=0,12m i stałej prędkości przepływu powietrza v=7,6m/s. Temperaturę czynnika suszącego zmieniano w zakresie 50-90 stopnia C. Określono wpływ temperatury czynnika na szybkość suszenia i wielkość średniego strumienia wilgoci z jednostki objętości komory suszarki. Wyniki przedstawiono w postaci wykresów i równań korelacyjnych.

The process of drying blanched red beet cubes in a fluidized bed was studied as affected by the temperature of drying agent. The cubes of dimensions 10x10x10 mm were dried in a laboratory fountain drier from the initial moisture content (dry basis) uo=7 kg/kg to final moisture content uk=0.1 kg/kg. The process proceded at constant height of material bed in drying chamber Ho=0.12 m and constant air flow velocity v=7.6 m/s. The temperature of drying agent was chamged within the range of 50-90C degree. The effect of drying agent temperature on the rate of drying and the quantily of mean moisture flux per volume unit of drying chamber, were determined. The results were presented in form of diagrams and correlation equations.
