Niniejszy tekst jest próbą ujęcia historii energetyki stalowowolskiej od jej początków, tj. budowy Elektrowni Stalowa Wola w latach 1938-1939 – jednego z zakładów energetycznych Centralnego Okręgu Przemysłowego, a skończywszy na utworzeniu nowoczesnej Elektrociepłowni działającej w układzie parowogazowym. Przeanalizowane zostały poszczególne etapy rozbudowy elektrowni, jako zakładu pionierskiego w elektryfikacji regionu. W ujęciu historycznym przeanalizowane zostały również kwestie związane z wytwarzaniem energii cieplnej oraz ochroną środowiska naturalnego. W tekście zwrócono uwagę na wyzwania jakie w poszczególnych dekadach lat 1939-2024 stawały przed stalowowolską energetyką i wpływały na kierunki jej rozwoju.

This text is an attempt to present the history of the Stalowa Wola energy industry from its beginnings, i.e. the establishment of the Stalowa Wola Power Plant in 1939 as one of the energy plants of the Central Industrial District, ending with the establishment of the modern Combinecd cycle gas turbine (CCGT) Power Plant operating today. The creation of the Stalowa Wola Power Plant was associated with electrification plans on a state scale from the very beginning. The local role of Gerhard Francke's private power plant in Nisko was also recalled, powering his industrial plants and supplying the town of Nisko with lighting. Individual stages of the expansion of the Stalowa Wola Power Plant were analyzed as a plant with a pioneering role in the electrification of the region. All stages of the plant's development are presented in chronological order: Stalowa Wola I Power Plant, Stalowa Wola II Power Plant, Stalowa Wola III Power Plant and the heating element for the sulfur industry, and finally the CCGT Power Plant with a gas and steam unit. Attention was also paid to adaptation and modernization investments. Problems that builders encountered during the construction of large industrial facilities were also mentioned. From a historical perspective, issues related to the production of thermal energy and the protection of the natural environment, which is particularly important today, were also analyzed. The text draws attention to the challenges that the Stalowa Wola energy industry faced in the particular decades of 1939-2024 in the context of the latter's development directions.
