Tegoroczne powodzie spowodowały poważne szkody w 14 województwach, w tym w ponad 800 gminach. Pod wodą znalazło się ponad 680 tys. ha ziemi oraz 18 tys. budynków. W artykule opisano szkody powstałe w wyniku powodzi, raporty NIK i poszczególne programy gospodarki wodnej.

The subject of floods has constantly been with us for the last three months. While watching TV news or reading daily press, we are impacted by powerful doses of information and data concerning floods, underfloods, storms and hurricanes, as well as other nature's atrocities, which the weather and the atmosphere so profusely bestow on us. Assumingly, a lot of you may have had the misfortune to have experienced flood effects, either yourself or by example of your family or friends. In this review, we shall, among others, try to grasp the scope of flood-related losses and to see how and in what extent anti-flood measures have been undertaken by responsible services during previous years in the light of the recent reports of the Supreme Chamber of Control. We shall also learn what programmes are to be protecting the country against similar flood effects in the future.
