In the proposed approach, commodity markets are considered as self-organizing non-equilibrium systems, which generate in principio unpredictable chaotic time series of prices. However, they can be successfully analysed by means of the multi-scale spectral analysis, as well as of non-stochastic fractal statistics. These methodologies are therefore recommended as useful tools for a suggested way of market investigations. Former predictions concerning incoming trends and behaviours of global commodity markets along the decade seem to be successfully followed. Thus, the question is being addressed why such hard-to-foreseen time series of market prices are well enough suited to the Fourier analysis. Presumably, it is dynamic non-equilibrium, related to complex dissipative systems governed by non-linear differential equations, which gives rise for these chaotic fluctuations, for changes in the price trends and rates, as well as for frequent resonance couplings between the markets.
