Tunele drogowe, choć dotychczas rzadko spotykane w polskim krajobrazie, coraz częściej pojawiają się na mapie Polski, stanowiąc interesujące i niezbędne rozwiązanie infrastrukturalne. W celu zapewnienia bezpiecznych warunków użytkowania tunelu drogowego kluczowe znaczenie ma odpowiednio zaprojektowany system wentylacji tunelu. W artykule przedstawiono analizę dostępnych rozwiązań w zakresie systemów wentylacji tuneli drogowych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem procesu ich projektowania i realizacji inwestycji tunelowych w polskich warunkach.

Road tunnels, although rarely found in the Polish landscape so far, appear more and more often on the map of Poland, constituting an attractive and necessary infrastructure solution. To ensure safe conditions of road tunnel operation, a properly designed tunnel ventilation system is of crucial importance. The article presents an analysis of available solutions for the ventilation systems of road tunnels, with particular emphasis on the process of their design and implementation of tunnel investments in Polish conditions.

Stanowią one także źródło potencjalnego niebezpieczeństwa w przypadku wystąpienia pożaru. Istotną funkcję pełni system wentylacji, który ma za zadanie umożliwić bezpieczną ewakuację użytkowników i działanie służb ratunkowych. Właściwy dobór systemu wentylacji jest kluczowym zagadnieniem w projektowaniu tuneli.

Road tunnels perform an important function in road infrastructure, enabling overcoming obstacles while running communication routes. They are also a source of potential danger in the event of fire. A significant role is played by ventilation system, which is designed to enable the safe evacuation of tunnel users and the operation of emergency services. The right choice of ventilation system is a key issue in tunnel design.

Road tunnels perform an important function in road infrastructure, enabling overcoming obstacles while running communication routes. They are also a source of potential danger in the event of fire. A significant role is played by ventilation system, which is designed to enable the safe evacuation of tunnel users and the operation of emergency services. The right choice of ventilation system is a key issue in tunnel design. The article discusses solutions which are used and presents guidelines for their selection, including national and European regulations. The fire development process and factors affecting smoke spread have also been characterized.

Prawidłowe systemy wentylacji wpływają bezpośrednio na sprawność i bezpieczeństwo transportu w tunelach komunikacyjnych. W Polsce zagadnienie wentylacji tuneli jest stosunkowo mało znane, m.in. z powodu niewielkiej ich liczby. Na świecie zagadnienia wentylacji i bezpieczeństwa w tunelach komunikacyjnych są przedmiotem szerokich badań teoretycznych oraz doświadczeń wykorzystywanych w pracach projektowych i budowlanych. W artykule dokonano próby syntezy najważniejszych zagadnień, związanych z wentylacją tuneli komunikacyjnych z propozycją potraktowania jej jako przyczynek dla podjęcia także w Polsce badań w tym zakresie. Można i należy wykorzystać wiele doświadczeń polskiego górnictwa podziemnego.

Correct ventilation systems directly influence the effciency and safety of transport in transportation tunnels. In Poland the issue of tunnels ventilations is considerable little known, among other due to a small number of tunnels. In the World the problem of ventilation and safety in transportations tunnels is the subject of vast theoretical investigations and experiments utilised in design and construction works. The article performs an attempt to synthesisc the most important problems connected with tunnels ventilation with a suggestion to treat it as the contribution to undertake investigations in this respect also in Poland. One may and should utilise many experiences of the Polish underground mining.
