A wide consensus exists on the role of intangible assets in both developed and developing economies, especially now, with the new generation of information and communication technologies. Emerging economies generally demonstrate lower endowment with intangibles (Dutz et al., 2012), but follow the same positive patterns for long-run development. In Russia, the contribution of intangibles to growth is still modest, and its capacity to foster productivity has not been achieved. As previous studies showed, efficiency represents one of the main channels of total factor productivity growth. This paper studies the effects of intangibles on the efficiency of Russian manufacturing firms in 2009–2018. Considering the heterogeneity of sectors and firms, the stochastic frontier model is applied. In general, the impact of intangibles is positive but small and influenced by external shocks and structural features. The paper provides evidence on different contributions of intangibles to efficiency for hightech and low-tech firms and its change over time. It contributes to the strand of literature regarding the technical efficiency measurement on the microlevel. On the practical side, the paper suggests an analytical framework for differentiated policy mechanisms to drive investments in intangibles, which are essential for current digital transformation.

Handicraft production is usually chaotic and difficult to monitor, since its products and manufacturing processes are complex. As all the manufacturing steps rely on varied skill levels of the workers, the situation is even more stochastic. There are several common problems, such as inappropriate production method, line unbalance, excessive stock, lack of production planning and control phases, etc. They stem from the lack of suitable operation model, redundant workforce usage, and insufficient internal training activities, which lead to the waste of human resources. In this paper, a roadmap to improve the operational efficiency of handicraft manufacturing is suggested, using Lean-Six Sigma methodology and tools. A case study is conducted in a Vietnamese firm to show the validity of the approach.

The paper presents a method of scheduling execution of technological operations in work centres in a company manufacturing seats for passenger cars. To that end, an optimization algorithm based on the B&B method was developed, aimed at minimizing the number of employees necessary for operation of the work centres and at maximizing capacity of the manufacturing process. Efficiency and effectiveness of the algorithm was verified on the grounds of real data coming from the manufacturing company.

Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia rolę jaką pełni CSR w kreowaniu wizerunku firmy produkcyjnej. Artykuł zawiera w sobie definicję samej koncepcji CSR oraz wytyczne, jak należy interpretować oraz rozpatrywać dane zjawisko. Uwzględnione są także zasady, które są domeną oraz wyznacznikiem działalności w zakresie społecznie odpowiedzialnego biznesu. Zostały w nim zawarte wskazówki dotyczące tego w jaki sposób wdrożyć CSR w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym wraz z przykładami praktyk składających się na CSR oraz przykład przedsiębiorstwa, który z powodzeniem wdrożył te praktyki dla osiągnięcia celów marketingowych. Przedstawione zostały również działania w zakresie CSR, które wpływają pozytywnie na wizerunek firmy produkcyjnej oraz ich wagę dla kreowania pozytywnego obrazu przedsiębiorstwa.

The following article is presenting the role of CRS in creating the image of a production company. The article contains the definition of CRS's conception, and guidelines on how to interpret the main idea. There is a number of guidelines on how to accustom the CSR in a production company, as well as practices examples that are a part of CSR, including an example of companies that have successfully implemented them into achieving their marketing goals. A set number of CSR's activities that can possitively affect the companies image has been presented.

This paper presents the effects of researches regarding the computer programming systems to support the management of production conducted in Polish manufacturing companies. The research based on a survey covered 57 companies in all 16 voivodeship. The analysis of research presents development issues and the need for further function of ERP system. While researching the functionality of ERP systems, 23 functions has been included, among other things: - registration of active time, - registration of active time of technologist, - calculation cost of fabrication of product, - configuration of product, - minimalization of surplus, - production plannig. The researches include the elements of the number od critical and essential problems and the number of critical and essential problems with function state. Critical problems mostly appear in small and middle companies. Many critical and essential problems in supply industry, operation of magazine and furtherance work of sale. Small companies have maximum problems in this field. The number of critical and essential problems with deployment of ERP function has increased in companies lacking the deployed, problematic ERP functions – this outcome is illogical. This situation that came into existance might be perceived as probable difficulties of the company in a certain area. The paper includes the research of the General Agency of Statistics applying to the market saturation of ERP systems for the manufacturing companies. The researches presents analysis of studies point to the important role and usefulness of the supervising consultants of ERP systems. The direction of the management of the company and the benefits of introducing information systems has been included.

Rozwój nowych produktów (RNP) ma zasadnicze znaczenie w osiągnięciu sukcesu gospodarczego firm produkcyjnych. Firmy muszą stale dążyć do rozwoju nowych produktów, w celu zaspokojenia potrzeb rynku, a także celem sprostania konkurencji. Większość proponowanych w literaturze rozwiązań w zakresie rozwoju nowego produktu opracowano dla przedsiębiorstw funkcjonujących w środowisku produkcji na magazyn (ang. make to stock). Jak wykazano w artykule, środowisko to różni się znacząco od środowiska konstrukcji na zamówienie (ang. engineering-to-order). Posłużyły one ocenie obecnych w literaturze i praktyce, wybranych modeli procesów rozwoju nowego produktu (PRNP) ze wskazaniem obszarów wymagających dopracowania.

Development of new products is essential for the economic success of manufacturing companies. Companies must constantly strive to develop new products to meet market needs. Most of the solutions proposed in the literature in the development of a new product designed for make to stock companies. However, as it turns out, unfortunately, these solutions cannot be directly used in engineering-to-order companies. The article presents some models of new product development processes, indicating areas for their refinement.

W artykule omówiony został jeden z głównych problemów operacyjnych polskich firm produkcyjnych – puste przebiegi. Problem ten szczególnie nasila się gdy przedsiębiorstwo posiada własny tabor. Sposobem zmniejszenia kosztów związanych przejazdami bez towaru są platformy frachtowe, które notują bardzo dynamiczny wzrost użytkowników z sektora produkcyjnego. Przemyślane zagospodarowanie transportu pozwala znacznie obniżyć jego koszty. Wymaga to jednak zastosowania innowacyjnych rozwiązań, które dotychczas nie były powszechne wśród firm produkcyjnych.

Paper discussed the operating problems of Polish productive companies – empty running. Problem this intensifies particularly when the enterprise possesses the own car. The way reduction costs connected which rides without goods are road transport systems, which write down very dynamic growth users from the productive sector. Well-thought-out farm implementing transportation lets considerably cut down costs. This requires however the uses of the innovative solutions which were not until now general among productive companies.
