The process of modernization of the Polish Armed Forces has been going on almost continuously since its inception to enable the implementation of the country's military strategy. The purpose of the article is to present issues related to the specifics of the implementation of projects for the provision of military equipment and project management methods used in the arms industry in the current economic reality. In the presented article, using the analysis and synthesis of available materials, the current economic and military situation strongly conditioned by the current actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine is presented. The requirements for the Polish armaments industry are taken into account in this aspect. In the further part of the article, the authors will focus on presenting the specifics of the operation of armaments industry enterprises and the role they occupy in the system of ensuring the supply of equipment to the Polish Armed Forces. The specific conditions occurring in the implementation of projects in the armaments industry and the most commonly used project methodologies in the industry will also be described. The concept of project implementation efficiency is defined, and the results of research undertaken in this regard are presented. In the conclusions are included conclusions on the issues undertaken.

Rare earth elements (REEs) are a group of elements of fundamental importance for the industry, including especially high-tech solutions. Lack of alternatives for this group of materials in some applications used in the armaments industry results in rare earth elements having a substantial impact on safety of highly developed countries. A complicated situation on the market of rare earth elements, arising out of the Chinese monopoly on the extraction and sale of REE-bearing minerals as well as huge price fluctuations caused by political turmoils contribute to the fact that the technology of extraction, processing and usage of rare earth elements is addressed in many scientific works. The article describes basic information regarding the rare earth elements, including technological, industrial and political conditions.

Metale ziem rzadkich są grupą pierwiastków o kluczowym znaczeniu dla przemysłu, w tym przede wszystkim dla rozwoju rozwiązań z zakresu high-tech. Brak alternatyw dla tej grupy materiałów w niektórych aplikacjach wykorzystywanych w branży zbrojeniowej sprawia, iż pierwiastki ziem rzadkich mają znaczny wpływ na poziom bezpieczeństwa krajów wysoko rozwiniętych. Skomplikowana sytuacja na rynku metali ziem rzadkich, wynikająca z chińskiego monopolu na wydobycie i sprzedaż minerałów zawierających te pierwiastki, oraz gigantyczne wahania cen wywołane politycznymi kryzysami sprawiają, iż tematyka technologii wydobycia, przetwarzania i wykorzystania metali ziem rzadkich jest poruszana w licznych pracach naukowych. W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe informacje dotyczące tematyki metali ziem rzadkich, z uwzględnieniem uwarunkowań technologicznych, gospodarczych oraz politycznych.

Współczesne pole walki wymaga nowoczesnych rozwiązań technologicznych, głównie w obszarze wyposażenia żołnierza oraz środków rażenia. Zastosowanie nowoczesnych materiałów, takich jak włókna polimerowe czy materiały kompozytowe, pozwala na ochronę ciała żołnierza przy jednoczesnym zmniejszeniu ciężaru jego oporządzenia. Zastosowanie nowoczesnych technologii umożliwia wyposażenie żołnierza w lżejszą broń palną oraz amunicję. Prowadzone są również badania nad umundurowaniem umożliwiającym rejestrowanie uszkodzenia ludzkiego ciała i przesyłanie informacji do centrum dowodzenia.

Contemporary battlefield requires new technology, to be applied mainly in the production of a soldier's outfit and warfare means. The use of modern materials such as polymer fibres or composite material enables to protect soldiers and reduce the weight of their outfit and equipment (lighter firearms and ammunition). The research is also conducted as regards new uniforms with capability to trace injuries of human body and send this information to the command center.

Przedstawiono budowę nowoczesnego zautomatyzowanego stanowiska do wyżarzania łusek amunicji przy pomocy nagrzewania indukcyjnego. Ponadto opisano system ciągłej kontroli procesu wyżarzania łusek poprzez bezstykowy pomiar temperatury pozwalający na eliminowanie braków z procesu wytwarzania amunicji.

The construction of a modern automated station for annealing of cartridge cases by means of induction heating is presented. Moreover, the system for continuous monitoring of the annealing process by non-contact temperature measurement enabling to eliminate defective units in the ammunition manufacturing process has been described.

W referacie posumowano wyniki prac w zakresie technologii wytwarzania i przetwarzania stopów na osnowie faz międzymetalicznych, w szczególności z układów Ni-Al i Fe-Al oraz omówiono efekty związane z uplastycznieniem wybranych stopów. Zbadano wpływ rodzaju proszku żelaza, stopnia utlenienia proszku wolframu oraz rodzaju atmosfery spiekania na jakość spieków W-7%Ni-3%Fe. Oceniono wpływ obciążenia wybuchowego spieku na jego właściwości.

The results of investigations of Ni-Al and Fe-Al intermetallic alloys were summarised in this paper. Many different methods utilising plastic forming, heat treatment and thermomechanical tretment of castings as well hot pressing and sintering of powder materials and consolidation of layered structures or protective coatings were used to obtain new alloys on a base or with significant contents of intermetallic phases in the structure. The influence of sintering atmosphere, sort of iron powder and level of tungsten powder oxidation on selected properties of W-Ni-Fe sinters was investigated. The effect of explosive loading of sinters on their properties was described too.
