W artykule podjęto próbę oszacowania rozmiarów światowego parku jednośladowych pojazdów silnikowych (motocykli, skuterów, motorowerów) oraz bieżącej wielkości produkcji w/w kategorii tych pojazdów. Podkreślono istnienie ukształtowanych historycznie całkowicie odmiennych rynków jednośladowych pojazdów silnikowych w krajach zmotoryzowanych i w krajach wkraczających dopiero w epokę masowej motoryzacji. Setki milionów eksploatowanych jednośladowych pojazdów silnikowych stanowi wbrew obiegowym opiniom istotny komponent światowego bilansu paliw płynnych oraz emisji spalin.

The topic of the article is to assess the volume of the worldwide park of one-track motor vehicles (motorcycles, scooters and motor-bicycles) and the current volume of production of the aforementioned vehicles. Attention is given to the fact that the one-track motor vehicles markets are historically different in countries with a developed motor industry and in countries entering the era of mass motorization. Hundred millions of one-track motor vehicles are - contrary to widespread opinions - an important element of the worldwide balance of fuels and combustion emission.
