W artykule przedstawiono wybrane europejskie typologie krajobrazów kulturowych oraz bazujące na nich próby utworzenia map krajobrazu kulturowego. Scharakteryzowano cztery typologie krajobrazowe opracowane na potrzeby kartograficznego ujęcia zróżnicowania krajobrazów w skali państw i kontynentu europejskiego, uwzględniające ich historyczno-kulturowe atrybuty. Szczegółowo opisano cechy kulturowo-historyczne krajobrazów zastosowane do wyodrębniania typów krajobrazu oraz wykorzystane materiały tematyczne. Mimo zróżnicowania prezentowanych ujęć typologicznych we wszystkich przykładach ważną rolę odgrywają dane dotyczące użytkowania ziemi.

The paper reports several European typologies of cultural landscapes and landscape maps that were based on the typologies. The structures of four landscape typologies that relay on a variety of historical and cultural features were described along with mapping efforts both on national and continental scale. Landscape elements and their features, and thematic data sources used for landscape units delineation and characterization of landscape types were described in detail. It was found that despite diverse typology frameworks thematic data related to land use play a significant role in all the presented cases.
