Temat pozyskiwania „zielonej” energii, przede wszystkim dzięki elementom fotowoltaicznym nie jest w Polsce tak popularny, jak w Niemczech, gdzie coraz częściej stosuje się nową technikę do korzystania z odnawialnych źródeł energii. Natomiast w Polsce także obserwuje się od niedawna proces montowania różnorodnego rodzaju wyposażenia ulicy, które współpracuje z techniką fotowoltaiczną lecz w mniejszym zakresie. Artykuł ma na celu scharakteryzowanie tychże energooszczędnych składników miejsc publicznych, jako nowego sposobu kształtowania krajobrazu Polski. Wyniki opracowania mają przedstawić znaczenie, jakie odgrywają energie odnawialne w tworzeniu wizerunku miast i pejzaży polskich oraz odnoszą się do systematyki elementów fotowoltaicznych w infrastrukturze drogowej.

Poland possesses rich resources of renewable energies. Though their potential is not used enough. Next to geothermal heat, biomass, water and wind power there is also the sun energy, which is not as popular, as the resources mentioned before. However the experiences from Scandinavia show, that even little amount of solar radiation drives the production of energy by means of photovoltaic elements. In Poland solar facilities seem to be much poorer than, for example, in Germany. They have one function: they supply the power mainly for lighting up the pedestrian crossings. Their form does not enrich the cityscape. Moreover, these elements are to be seen increasingly outside of cities – by car roads. The paper presents the examples of roads: In the south, south-west, west and south-east of Poland. The results of researches are connected with the systematic of described photovoltaic elements within the street infrastructure, which embraces their functions, form, and location. As far as the function is concerned, the mentioned elements are integrated with the hybrid system or they are situated as single photovoltaic. Moreover, the solar energy is supplied for one or for two lamps near the pedestrian street crossings. As an aspect of location we can mention the installation of photovoltaic elements by the main and local ways. Nevertheless, depending on the class of ways these elements are placed on one or on both street sides. The third feature of photovoltaic facilities is their form. It refers to the lightening of the pedestrian crossings by means of solar energy. This lightening is usually installed over a street or next to it, which is reflected in the shape of the pillars, where the panels are built up. Besides, the panels consist of one, three or six parts. To sum up, despite of the present photovoltaic elements within the street space, the cityscape of polish urban areas waits for the technological actualization of elements of its form seen as composition of various shapes and multifunctional photovoltaic elements.
