EN

Technology has been gradually considered as an important factor for society's development. Growth of this sector has great influence on city's spatial transformations and causes development of technopoles. Dynamic expansion of science and technology parks provokes architects into discussion about modern city's shape and influence on traditional town's management. It could develop like single centre inside or outside a city or like structures generating a new city. In this article there are presented two very famous and model French technopoles. Examples of Sophia-Antipolis and Montpellier show important features and the way of city's composition by these technology parks. Basing on the history and the present tendency of theirs growth and some problems and solutions of spatial development, author draws a conclusion, usefulness to creation Polish technology parks. Depending on context and connection with town's structure, technopoles could develop at least in two directions; from the city's amorphous shape grouping modern buildings in greenery to cluster surrounded by traditional town. The very important thing is to create a vision of future city and to realise it consistently. The city's transformation is visible in his economic, social, culture and spatial aspects, which starts the era of new urbanization.
