Information about the state of technology development of heavy duty gas turbines for power generation applications with particular attention to the progress observed in recent years is presented. Evaluation of current gas turbine and combined cycle market (key manufacturers, largest units, efficiency, emissions) is submitted. Examples of technical solutions in response to the key challenges associated with the development of technology and gas turbine market (parameter increasing of the working medium, the expectation of high flexibility, including the ability to work efficiently at partial load) are shown.
