PL

Ciągłe udoskonalenia pojazdu, a przede wszystkim zastosowanie urządzeń ochrony biernej przyczyniło się do ocalenia życia i zdrowia wielu tysiącom uczestników ruchu podróżujących w pojazdach. Jednym z takich urządzeń są pasy bezpieczeństwa. Stosowanie pasów powoduje redukcję ryzyka poniesienia śmierci lub bycia rannym. W dużym stopniu zmniejsza się częstotliwość uszkodzeń twarzy, oczu, mózgu i płuc. Około 50% ofiar śmiertelnych wypadków drogowych mogłoby być ocalonych, jeśli w chwili zderzenia miałyby zapięte pasy bezpieczeństwa. W niniejszej publikacji przedstawiono krótką charakterystykę i historię stosowania pasów bezpieczeństwa, scharakteryzowano i porównano poszczególne metody badania poziomu stosowania pasów bezpieczeństwa oraz podjęto próbę określenia ich dokładności. Wyniki badań zilustrowano na przykładach pochodzących z badań zagranicznych.

Constant improvements and particularly the use of passive safety devices have contributed to saving lives and protecting health of a few thousands of road traffic participants traveling in vehicles. Safety belts is one of such devices. Using safety belts decreases the risk of death or injury. The number of face, eyes, brain and lungs injuries dramatically drops when safety belts are used. Roughly 50% of casualties could have been avoided if safety belts were fastened at the time of accident. The paper provides a short characteristics and a brief history of the use of safety belts, it defines and compares certain test methods which allow to define the level of use of safety belts and makes an attempt at specifying how precise these methods are. Results presented in the article refer to tests conducted abroad.
