Abstrakty
The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of financial globalization on economic growth in the ASEAN-6 countries, which are the top 6 countries in the ASEAN region, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The authors use the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) to estimate the research model. Additionally, the Bayesian method is also used to test robustness and further clarify estimation results. The results reveal that financial globalization positively affects economic growth in the ASEAN-6 countries, with a 100 percent probability of occurring. This is a new finding in this study compared to previous studies. Regarding control variables, the estimation results indicate that corruption control and government expenditure positively affect economic growth, while population growth negatively affects economic growth. The findings provide substantial empirical evidence for the ASEAN-6 countries, particularly in identifying appropriate solutions to promote financial globalization linked to economic growth in these countries.
