Omówiono podstawowe pojęcia i terminy stosowane w toksykologii oraz sposoby oceny toksykologicznej zagrożeń środowiska za pomocą testów toksyczności ostrej (acute test), chronicznej (chronic test, repreduction test) oraz układów systemowych. W charakterystyce testów podkreślono znaczenie doboru właściwych organizmów wskaźnikowych (glonów, skorupiaków, ryb) i parametrów prowadzenia badań (czasu ekspozycji i innych). Omówiono sposoby prezentowania statystycznie opracowywanych wyników i klasyfikację toksyczności, opartej na wartości stężeń progowych tych właśnie toksycznych związków.
The fundamental concepts and terms used in the toxicology and the methods for a toxicological evaluation of the menaces to environment using the toxicity tests: acute test, chronic test, reproduction test, as well as the system arrangements are discussed. In the characteristics of the tests the importance of selection of the proper indicator organisms (algae, crustacea, fishes) and the testing parameters (exposure time and others) has been pointed out. The methods for presenting the statistically evaluated results and classification of toxicity based on the value of threshhold concentration of these toxic compounds are discussed.
