Abstrakty

EN

The aim of the article is to present the role of information in combating terrorism. The first part of the article presents information instruments for counteracting terrorism, paying particular attention to the information and education policy and the need for an inter-institutional approach. Information instruments for combating terrorism are discussed in the second part. Particular attention was paid to the role of intelligence and counterintelligence as well as the Internet as the field in which the information fight against terrorism takes place. The article also highlights the role of the media in the discussed subject. In addition, it underlines the importance of information in countering terrorism at its root in its early stage and the need to create alternative and competitive patterns for the individuals / communities upon which terrorism is based.
